"Because you what? Come on Jack I REALLY want to know."
"Because I love you ok!" with that Jack turned and stormed out of the cabin, leaving Katie shocked and her anger dissolving into thin air.

Jack avoided Katie for the rest of the week, any time he was with her; they were never alone meaning they couldn't talk. Katie began to feel isolated, and that she had no one to talk to. The only people she had ever really talked to on the ship were Ana Maria and Jack. Jack wouldn't come near her after spilling his feelings to her, and Ana Maria was spending nearly all her time with Drew, as he had more strength.
A knock on the door brought Katie out of her thoughts and she looked up to see Jack coming inside, and was surprised when no one else followed.
"You will be home within a few hours. I think we're half a day away from the port." Katie looked down at her hands then lifted her head up again and looked Jack straight in the eye. He quickly turned his head away.
"So your still sending me back after what you said. Where's the sense in that?" Jack walked over to Katie and stood besides her, looking down at her.
"Because to me it makes sense. If you are here, then there is always a chance you could either get hurt or be killed. If you are at your home there is a tiny chance that that will happen, Savvy?"
"No. If I am here then I will be happy. Who cares about the risks it involves?"
"I do."
"I don't... ok well I do care what you think and what you say Jack but why are you making me go back when you know I'm going to have to be married off to that fat slob, be raped by him because I wouldn't 'pleasure' him on my own consent, and if he got me pregnant probably die giving birth to the brat!" Jack rubbed his temples and screwed up his eyes. "Plus I've lived such a protected life, that I want to take risks, I don't want to be bundled up in cotton wool anymore. Don't make me go back. Please." Jack sighed.
"You have to go back. Kate I don't want you too and if it was up to me, I wouldn't make you but it's out of my hands. I'm sorry." Jack turned and walked out of the cabin leaving Katie confused.

About 5 hours later another knock on the door, brought Katie out of her thoughts. Her hopes that it was Jack coming to say he'd changed his mind and that he wasn't really making her go back, where dashed when Ana's head appeared around the door.
"Captain says t' tell ye that you'll be home within the hour." Ana turned to leave but Katie stopped her.
"Ana do you know why I have to go back?"
"I thought Jack had told ye?" Katie shrugged.
"He's told me something but they don't make sense. Like he said it was out of his hands and that if it was up to him he wouldn't make me go back to that place. What's that supposed to mean?"
"Oh. He didn't... well its out of his hands because your farther sent a letter saying that if we didn't return you soon the whole of the navy would be after us, but if we returned you within the week, we would be aloud to go freely, and not be hung unless caught on another occasion. Oh and your farther also said he'd include a LOT of money... but that isn't important."
"Ok... I have been gone 3 weeks, why does he suddenly want me back for the... oh no." Katie's head snapped up in realisation of what was going to happen when she got back... she was going to have to marry Johnson. "Ana I need your help." Ana frowned but moved closer and listened to what Katie was saying.

An hour later Katie was about to leave the pearl for what most of them thought would be the last time. Standing on the dock was aloud of military men, her farther and the ugly old man she was to be married off to in a few days. Katie had told her plan to both Ana and Jack, getting them to agree to it. Jack's reaction had been less then what she thought but she passed it off and got to work on Ana Maria.
Stepping off the pearl she resisted temptation to turn around and take what should be her last look at the pirate ship. Looking beside her, she gave a small smile to Ana who was looking the most nervous that anyone had ever seen her at before.
"Farther."
"Katie, it's so good to see you safe again and... who's she?" Katie looked around to see Ana standing behind her.
"Oh farther that is Ana Maria, she's a girl they saved on an island, and she was alone and was left to die. They didn't want her and I pleaded with them to let her come with me." Katie looked around again but this time she watched the Pearl sailing away. When she turned back her farther was shaking hands with Ana and greeting her to the port.
"Come come now darling, we must get you home and freshened up. We have a lot to do for your wedding on Wednesday." Katie took a sharp intake of breath. "So I'm assuming you will want this young lady to be a bridesmaid also?" Katie took a look at Ana who was trying not to scowl at that thought – it would mean she would have to wear a dress.
"Yes I would. Me and Ana Maria are going to freshen up, if you would excuse us."

As soon as the door to her bedroom was locked, and a chair was up against it, Katie let out a heavy sigh. Ana was still scowling at her and she tried not to laugh at the look on her face.
"I am not wearing a dress!" Katie smiled.
"Sorry Ana, it's the only way we're going to pull this off. Now come on."
"I still don't like it, ye owe me a lot for this Katie. So does Jack. Because I am NEVER going to be aloud to forget it when they see me in a dress."
"You'll look lovely now come!" Katie beckoned her to the door as they went to get measured up.

Katie was a bag of nerves and was unsure that she could go through with the plan she had made for that day. Biting her nails, she looked up to see Ana come out from behind the screen in her bridesmaid dress.
"Oh Ana you look lovely."
"Thanks. This is the only time you are EVER going to see me in a dress though. I hate it. So uncomfy!" Katie managed a little giggle before she went back to biting her nails. A knock on the door brought her out of her thoughts and she looked up to see her farther come in the room.
"Are you ready darling?"
"Yes Farther." Slightly shaking as she took her fathers arm she made her way down to the church with Ana following. As the music started inside, Katie's heart was beating so fast she thought it was going to explode.
As she got inside of the church, she wanted to throw up when she caught sight of the man she was 'marring'. Biting her lip as she got to the front, she knew that if she didn't do what she had to don soon, then she would regret it for the rest of her days.
"Katie Prune do you take Harold Johnson to be your lawful husband......" the blood in Katie's veins pumped so loudly she thought that everyone could hear it as she said her answer.
"No I do not." That was a shocked silence in the church as the man in front of her tried to get what she just said.
"What do you mean you wont marry me?"
"I wont marry you because I don't love you. I'm sorry but there was no other way to get the message through to you people. And farther before you say that you will disown me if I don't marry him, well disown me then. It won't change my mind. I am not getting married to him and that's that. I have a place somewhere else to be. If you excuse me." Katie turned and half walked half ran down the isle that she had just walked up. Ana looked at Katie then back to the old man, then ran after Katie, making it look like she was going to find out what was wrong with her, instead of helping her run away.

Jack stood at the rail, waiting for the two women to return to the pearl so that they could get on their way. He half wondered if Katie had changed her mind, as it was getting late, just before he turned to walk away he caught sight of two figures making there way towards the ship.
As Katie and Ana reached the pearl both Jack and Gibbs were standing waiting for them. Katie thought Jack's eyes would pop out when he caught sight of them both in the dresses but he quickly masked the emotion and shouted for them to be on there way, whilst ushing Katie inside of his cabin, while Ana had gone off somewhere to get rid of the dress.

"Well Jack are you going to allow me to take risks and be with you?" Jack put his finger up to his mouth and mock pretend to think about while he moved closer to her, with his other hand grabbing her wait and pulling her close to him.
"Ohh I don't know. You might have to convince with that one." Katie smiled.
"And how would I do that now captain sparrow?" Jack grinned and just before his lips touched hers he mumbled
"Let me show you." Before brushing his lips against hers and deepening their first kiss!
