Hey guys, here's Augustín and Julieta's love story. They meet again and again, but will they ever find each other and fall in love?
It was already dark when Julieta sneaked out of the casita that evening. As much as she tried to take the quietest possible steps, every single sound she made echoed through the halls of the building. She was constantly afraid of being caught by her mother or one of her siblings. In her mind, she went through all sorts of excuses and apologies, which provided a halfway credible justification for her late sneaking away in a dark blue coat, but none seemed to be really appropriate.
Confessing the truth was also out of the question. The reason she sneaked away was quite a good one for her, but it wouldn't apply to her mother. Julieta was a teenager and after years of work, for which her gift was responsible, and also a strict upbringing by her mother, she finally wanted to do something for herself and today it was the time. She was 16 and would be going to a teen party for the first time, to which she was invited last Wednesday.
She quickly scurried around the next corner and was finally able to let her paused breath escape, as she was no longer visibile from her family's rooms. But before she could sneak through the village and go to the restaurant where a friend's birthday party would take place, she quickly put on the hood of her deep blue coat so that she would not be recognized.
Yes, she knew how stupid that sounded. She was invited to a party, but put on the hood of her coat because she didn't want to be recognized. Sounds really stupid, but it also made sense to her, because unfortunately there was a problem with the whole thing, namely that she had actually canceled and had only decided at the last minute to come after all.
Her mother didn't know about the party because she had originally cancelled and in addition she was stupidly known in the village and it wouldn't take long before the rumor that she had been at a party go around. And as soon as her mother fount out about it, she would... Yes, Julieta didn't even want to imagine what would happen and so she quickly repressed the thought. Today was all about having fun.
As soon as she arrived at the restaurant, she sat down at a table in the darkest corner, from where she could relax and enjoy the party without anyone noticing. At least almost nobody. Because now she could not suppress a smile when she noticed how a brown-haired boy, not much older than herself, moved directly towards her.
The only one she had told about the whole intention was her best friend and he was now standing in front of her and sat down with her at the table. "And how is the party newbie doing?" She uttered a laugh because, whether she wanted to or not, she had never been to party before. At least not on any full of teenagers, without guardians and all sorts of things that you just did at a teenage party.
However, despite the late time, it seemed to be much too early, because no one was really here yet and it seemed more relaxed. Her friend had told her that she had booked the restaurant in the evening just for herself and her friends alone. Since other gestures, who were certainly not invited, sat at their taibles and there was still nothing to see of her friend far and wide, she assumed that she was simply much too early.
"I'm fine, thank you. How are you Mateo? You obviously don't have house arrest anymore, do you?" Now it was her best friend Mateo's turn to laugh. "Yes, actually, and that's why I have to leave soon so that they don't notice anything." Annoyed, he rolled his eyes and took a sip of his drink, which she had only recently received and was therefore still pleasantly chilled. With a satisfied sigh, he leaned back and absorbed her appearance.
A pleasant silence settled over the two, in which Mateo put on a thoughtful smile. "What?" A laugh escaped Julieta as soon as she noticed that he seemed to be looking at her. Mateo did not respond immediately to her question and at some point shrugged his shoulders indifferently. "I don't know, you look somehow different. The dress is new."
Laughing, she shook her head, because she really hadn't put on anything new, although that might have been wise, because she didn't want to be recognized after all. She simply hoped that the coat would suffice. "New coat?"
The silence seemed to be answer enough for him, because now he thoughtfully put a finger on his chin to continue looking for something new or unusucal. "Or no wait. Do you have a new hairstyle?" She uttered a relieved laugh. "Ay dios mío, I thought you would never get on it. The bow in my hair is gone and I've decided to let my hair grow now."
They talked for a while and all the time the soft tones of a piano echoed through the restaurant and calmed Julieta unconsciously, despite the excitement about the upcoming party and the fact that she didn't really notice the music. A few conversations later, a well-known song suddenly echoed in the restaurant.
The piano was still in the foreground, but now a whole band of different instruments had joined him an played together in perfect harmony. As beautiful as the music sounded, it wasn't the instruments that caught Julieta's attention, but the song they played. It was her favorite song and for this reason her face immediately brightened.
She jumped up enthusiastically and turned her eyes to the stage, where the band, with the pianist in the foreground, played her favorite song. Her gazes met those of the pianist. His deep brown eyes seemed to look directly inside her and Julieta was unable to avert her gaze. As soon as he noticed that she was staring at him, it looked for a brief moment as if his face would light up and gave her a little smile that was only for her.
Julieta seemed to be in a trance, attracted by the pianist's deep brown eyes, but at that moment her best friend pulled her out of her thoughts. "I should probably go. Otherwise I'll get even more trouble." He briefly rummaged in his pocket for some money and the pressed a note into her hand. "Here for the drinks." She tried to protest with a shake of her head, but Mateo rolled his eyes. "We discuss who pays every time and I'm pretty sure it's my turn or do you wan to argue about it again."
With a sigh, she took the note out of his hand. "Just so you know, next time I'll pay." Under the circumstances that they had the same discussion again, just like every other time they met, he couldn't help but laugh, while shaking his head. "I didn't expect anything else from you."
Before he finally said goodbye to her, he closed her in a friendly embrance and then left the restaurant. As soon as he was out of sight, Julieta turned her gaze to the stage again, but the band had finished the song and the pianist was gone. Searching, she looked around a bit, but did not see him anywehere, which is why for some inecplicable reason disappointment spread in her. Depressed, she let herself fall back into her chair. The desire to party had somehow passed her by, which is why she was just waiting to pay and finally make her way home.
