It's a hell of a burden, being the nice kid, Bobby thinks as he takes notes on Professor Xavier's lecture. When he's massively frustrated with life, he can't throw a temper tantrum like Pyro or run off crying like Rogue. Everyone expects him to be the one to 'handle' Pyro, to calm Rogue down. Who calms Iceman? Oh, but he never loses his cool. God, the puns people have thrown at him.

But he can't be angry with them, because his power is lethal. He could kill someone with it, not that he would, even if he lost control of his temper for once in his life. But the thought of losing control and making someone's blood freeze in their veins makes Bobby hurt deep inside. So he's always calm, the level-headed one, the one to think it through first and not be hasty. That way no one gets hurt.

So Bobby sits here in the classroom, thinking of where his best friend must be now. Magneto is just a different kind of teacher, after all. And Bobby knows that because he was sensible and didn't go with Pyro, he's going to have to fight his best friend someday soon. And Pyro won't be careful and he won't be nice. And maybe, Bobby thinks sadly, neither will he.
