A/N: I felt like writing a fanfic where there was a new master and a new servant. This is the first chapter of it.
Chapter One: The Summoning.
A house splattered in blood.
A village covered in bodies.
In the center of it all was a young girl with long black hair.
If you look closely you can see the tears and fear in her blue eyes as the inhuman thing that caused this comes closer. The girl starts running but her speed is no match for a superhuman being and as the thing because it clearly can't be called human came closer she tripped and as she neared the floor everything turned black.
Sonoko woke up sweating uncontrollably. She sat up and her usually straight black hair was messy and her blue eyes, while not as scared as in the dream, still looked scared of that thing.
"That dream again, I thought I got over that years ago"
She gets out of bed and after checking the time she notices she still has quite a while before school starts. After thinking for a while she realizes it's better to come early on the first day of school instead of being last minute. She starts getting ready for class and within 15 minutes she is already out the door.
'Time for class I guess, I wonder who's going to be in my class'
After walking for a while I see someone who looks my age and wears the same uniform as me. I decided to go up to them and talk for a bit, after all having friends is never bad. When I was going up to them I noticed the hair color and I realized it was mitsuzuri-san. After talking for a while we made it to school.
During class all that happened was introductions, nothing was really interesting except the fact that there was a new teacher there.
'Class was boring but that was to be expected, after all it is the first day of class.'
After class I rushed straight home. My home is a decent sized Japanese style home. There are no other houses around mine so it's pretty quiet most of the time.
Today is not really important for regular people, but for a magus who wants to participate in the Holy Grail War, today is probably one of the most if not the most important day of my life. While the holy grail war isn't going to start for like another week or two, it's better to try and summon a servant early.
Since it was the first day of class there was no homework, I went straight to the basement where my workshop was located. It was a small room and it was not lit up that well. I should be able to start summoning immediately because I already made the summoning circle yesterday so I didn't have to do it today. While I didn't have a catalyst it wasn't really needed since I was trying to summon a heroic spirit that fits with me the best.
'You got this Sonoko, all you have to do is say the incantation and pour mana in the circle then hope you were chosen and got a Saber class servant.'
"Let silver and steel be the essence.
Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation
Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall
Let the four cardinal gates close.
'I can see the circle lighting up and feel the mana drain, this is good all I have to do is not screw up now'
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate.
I hereby declare.
Your body shall serve under me.
My fate shall be your sword.
Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail
If you will submit to this will and this reason…Then answer!
An oath shall be sworn here!
I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven.
I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell! "
The summoning circles glow is now even brighter than before.
'I can see the circle glow, so that means it worked right?'
I look at my hand and see the red glow of the command seals.
'Yes! I got a servant now'
I look back up and I see a man in a kimono with a katana strapped to his waist. Looking closer I can see the man has green eyes and messy black hair with his right arm not having anything covering it.
"So judging by the command seals on your hand am I right in assuming you are my master?"
I was brought back from my thoughts by his question "Yes, I am. What servant class did I summon?"
"As my master shouldn't you be able to tell, I am of the assassin class."
I was surprised since I was expecting a saber based on his looks and it must have shown on my face since he had a look of amusement on his face.
"Are you disappointed in my class master?"
"N-no, since you were summoned without a catalyst that means we would work very well together."
"So, are you going to introduce yourself, or do you want me to call you master?"
"I was just planning on introducing myself. I am Sato Sonozaki and I will be acting as your master for the remainder of this grail war."
"What makes you think you can be my master, I'm pretty sure servants can kill their own master if they feel like it" He asks in an incredibly arrogant tone.
"I have command seals, worst case scenario I just use one so you don't kill me. Also you're an assassin so there's a high chance you don't have independent action." After this The command seals glow red lighting up the room.
He stares at me for a while. I can see him start smirking before he bursts into laughter "What makes you think you can use the command seals fast enough to stop me, and while I don't have independent action I'm sure I can find another master."
My whole face turned white. "Wha–, you wouldn't actually kill me right?"
"Nah i'm just kidding, as long as you don't do anything terrible I'll help you win the war."
Hearing this I relaxed knowing he wasn't going to kill me as long as I didn't do anything terrible.
After I regained my composure I continued speaking"Now that we got that settled, what is your true name assassin?"
"My name is not relevant as of right now, when I think it's important that you know my name I shall tell it to you."
Sonoko had a look of annoyance on her face and her eye was twitching.
What an unruly servant I managed to summon.
"What! I need to know your name to plan on what we're gonna do."
"If you knew my name you might accidentally tell someone. If you don't know my name it's impossible for you to tell anyone."
"Fine, you have a point. Anyway, tomorrow we are going to explore Fuyuki so you know the area. There's a guest room for you on the next floor if you want."
"Whatever you say master"
"If you gonna call me master what was the point in even asking for my name!" I yelled while walking out of the room.
"Hah… I don't think she even checked my parameters, what a weird master I have." The man could be seen sighing as he dematerialized into blue fragments.
