Review gently, but review please. The idea was good, so I wrote it when I was tired, before I forgot it, but writing this to start with was very hard, especially making it go with the episode!

Ex-Corporal Radar O'Reilly looked up and around quickly for the fourth time, but the closest person was about fifteen feet away. He had one of his "inclinations" that someone, not something, was about to happen. He didn't know what it meant, so all thoughts were shaken off, as he returned to his newspaper funnies.

Radar had been home for a couple of months, and was finally getting accustomed to civilian life again. On Saturdays, he would sit dining on a cheeseburger and fries at his favorite restaurant, as he was going to be doing on this day.

He felt someone walk up behind him, and looked up.

"D'you want a large chocolate milk shake today, Radar?"

"Oh, uh, no thanks. I gotta leave early today."

"How 'bout a small one, on the house?"

"Uh, sure, I guess so--thanks, Joey. And my usual burger 'n fries. Extra ketchup."

"Really? Well, your burger. I'm s'prised we're not outta ketchup. These guys pile it on already." He took of to fill the order.

"Thanks, Joe!" Radar called after him. So much for the weird feeling.

Sitting back in his chair, Radar thought he caught a glimpse of someone he knew, but unconsciously ignored it, as it seemed impossible. Suddenly, his eyes widened and he did a double take as his conscious took over.

"Hi, Radar."

Radar just blinked a few times and stared.

"How ya doin', kid?"

Radar didn't move.

"What, is there something on my shirt?" The man laughed as Radar tried to speak.

"C-c-colonel Blake?"

"Oh, good, you remember me. How've you been? And you can call me Henry."

"Yes, sir. I've been all right, s-Henry."

"You don't seem too happy to see me."

"No, sir, I mean yes, I'm just surprised....uh, d'ya want somethin' to eat?"

Henry smiled. "Can't," he said.

"Oh, yeah. Don't you miss it?"

"Nah. Don't miss much, except the people I love."

Radar's meal arrived. "Good. Extra ketchup."

His former commanding officer pulled out a paper bag with the same things Radar was eating and began munching.

"I thought you can't eat!"

"Yeah. But I can still enjoy a burger every once and awhile even if I'm not really eating it. I just don't eat 'earth food'."

The idle chatting continued.

After a few moments of silence, Henry asked, "So, how did you like your new C.O.?"

"Oh, he was great...but he wasn't you." Radar seemed almost embarrassed. "I really miss you. We all do."

Henry sighed. "Same here, kid. Same here."

Radar blinked back tears.

"I gotta go now, kid. It's been fun.

"Do ya have to?"

"Yeah. See ya, Radar. Take care of yourself."

"Wait!....How come? I mean, you're..."

"I said I would." With that he walked away and disappeared.

"Bye." Radar stared after him, his eyes fixed on his friend, whom he was finally able to bid farewell to, to the last. A tear slipped down his cheek.

"Who ya talkin' to Radar?"

Shaking his head, the memory finally came back. Radar just smiled. "See ya next week, Joey."
