Invading her Heart

Chapter 1

Percy

"Ah, Riptide, we meet again."

"It appears so, Mr. Atlas."

"Well, this time it'll be different."

"You mean a different jail?"

"Grr! Curse you!" the muscled man went straight for me, his face set in an ugly scowl.

Twisting out of his way, I returned the favor with a smirk, "Gotta do better than that if you want to finally win this time."

"Shut up!"

"You know I never do," I hollered, dancing around as he tried to desperately land a punch on me.

"Can't. You. Just. Stay. Still?!" he yelled in frustration. His face was red from anger and from the exercise I had just put him in; the veins on his head protruded out as his breaths became ragged.

"Come on Atlas, this isn't even as entertaining as our other battle," I sighed, leaning on a metal pillar. "And that was like what? Six months ago? Damn, don't tell me you didn't get better," I asked him seriously before I let out a chuckle that I was holding in.

"Arghh! I'll teach you a lesson, you little punk," suddenly, two long limbs began to grow behind the huge man, before they formed into two extra pairs of arms.

"Ah, so you're finally getting serious then?" I laughed before I ducked out of the way of one of his four fists. "Again, too slow," Grabbing his wrist I brought my elbow down swiftly onto his stretched-out arm; causing the bone to crack underneath.

"Urgh! My arm," he groaned in pain before I let him off and twirled away. "I'll get you for that!"

"Sigh, it's always the same," Before he could make a move, I rushed forward getting up, right into his face, and sucker-punched him.

"Oof," His face whipped to the size, as his body staggered sideways.

"Nope," I grabbed his flailing arm and pulled him back, twirling around him until I was behind his back; before I proceeded to kick the back of his knees. Bringing him down onto the cement floor. "Ya know, this seems way too easy." I hummed in his ear as I held him in a chokehold.

"Heh, it is eh?" he chuckled before I heard the click of a button.

"Guess they also have the same problem here," I hummed to myself while I snacked on some New York donuts. New York did indeed have the best donuts around.

I was currently at a cafe called Cafe Mocha, having a glass of dark coffee with a side of some chocolate donuts. The cafe was pretty empty, seeing as it was currently nearing eleven pm. But it wasn't exactly my idea to come here, hell, I wasn't even from New York in the first place. Just a few hours ago actually, I was in Greece; fighting a villain who goes by the name Atlas. He was a kindred fellow, actually let me rephrase that, he was an angry fellow, who had the ability to generate two extra pairs of arms. He also had superhuman strength, yes, if he got a hold of your head, he could easily squash you like a bug.

"More coffee sir?"

"Ah, no thank you ma' dam," I declined nicely.

Now, where was I? Oh yes, Atlas. That man was the reason I was here in the first place. While fighting him, he blew me up with some kind of device; whilst blowing himself up as well. But he died laughing with his face twisted into a cruel smile. While I myself was blown up, I luckily fell into the ocean, where my powers automatically helped me heal. But I was out cold, my mind was blank and my body was exhausted. I guess the explosion was so large that it blew me pretty far away. Seeing that once I awoke, I was on the shores of Manhattan.

"Ugh, what the hell?" I groaned, my head felt heavy and I felt like I had just run a marathon.

The sound of the rushing waves penetrated my ear, as I felt a million hard rocks prick my left cheek. Where the hell was I? I mean, it was obvious that I was on the shores of a beach, but where exactly? Raising my head I surveyed the surrounding area. I was surprised to find a billion bright lights hitting my eyes. Soon, the sound of laughter and chatter filled my ears as I realized that I was at some boardwalk carnival. But as far as I knew, the City of Corinth didn't have a boardwalk carnival at this time of the year. Or did they perhaps do it differently? Before I could dwell on the thought, I heard the sound of footsteps to my right. Instinctively, my hand raised, ready to use my power. But like lightning, something hit me as I lost feeling in my hand.

"You can stop right there."

"Huh?" I raised my head, facing the owner of the voice. But since it was so dark, their face was hidden.

"Well well well, what do we have here?" the person asked, but something felt off. Was this a guy? Or was he or she, using a gadget to change their voice.

Going with my second theory, I responded, "You don't have to continue using that device, I know you're a girl."

I guess I guessed correctly, as the person suddenly made a choking sound before saying, "I-I don't know what you mean."

"What? Is your voice so horrible that you'd go this far to hide it?" I continued.

"N-no, just stop alright. You've been caught red-handed."

"Red-handed?! Um, excuse me, officer? Right? I don't think I'm following what you're trying to say," I played along. "I'm just a guy that got dumped recently, and found this patch of sand very comforting."

"You're not bad looking though…" I heard the person utter under their breath.

"Ahah! You're a girl alright unless your gay which I don't have a problem with," I grinned teasingly. "You also appear to be a superhero, hmm, which one though? Charm perhaps? Naw, you don't seem like her," I mused to myself.

"Alright! You caught me," the person finally admitted.

"Wow, your voice is heavenly! Why would you hide that?" I questioned before I smiled cheekily. This interaction was pretty fun, and from what I've gathered so far from this single conversation. This person wasn't a superhero from Greece, nor was I even in Greece.

"Ugh, just come on," she groaned before grabbing me by my shoulder and hoisting me up. Like before, she shot two more sticky webby things on my stretched-out hands; they worked like actual handcuffs as she dragged me along with her.

Confirming my recent thoughts, I was indeed on the shores of a beach, right beside a boardwalk fair. Currently, as I was being dragged by my black and white-suited assailant; I surveyed the buildings around me. But as Sparky said, I was really bad with my geology. So instead, I studied the person in front of me, who was currently leading me around with a makeshift leash.

"Hmm, someone has a weird fetish," I decided to tease.

"What?" she asked, stopping in her tracks to turn towards me. She wore a white emotionless mask that covered her entire face, along with a white hoodie that went well with her mask. I couldn't see her face, but with the tone of her voice, I knew that she was indeed very innocent and stumped.

"Oh come on,"-Raising my shackled wrist, I wiggled my brow before she finally got it-"There we go!" I smiled triumphantly, as she quickly sighed angrily and turned.

"You're very funny, ya know that?"

"Yup, I get that every time," I responded proudly.

"What else do you get, that you're a dick?" she hissed, her voice sounding very irritated.

"Nope, but I do have a dick if you wanted to check," I smirked, while broadly indicating my lower half.

"Ya know what, you're probably the cockiest villain I've ever taken in," she sighed angrily.

"I'll take that as a compliment, thank you."

"Sure you will."

After walking for a while, along with me trying my best to piss her off some more. We finally got to the police precinct, where she got them to interrogate me.

"So, Mr. Jackson, from what you've told us, you were recently dumped by your girlfriend and you decided to lay down on the wet sandy shore to relieve your pain," the officer in front of me repeated for the seventh time.

"Yes officer, just like a few minutes ago, you are correct yet again," I answered tiredly.

"What was her name, if you don't mind me asking."

"Kelli. Her name was Kelli, a-and she was everything I h-ad," I cried before I brought my cuffed hands up to my face. I truly was an amazing actor.

"O-ok, I'm sorry that I asked," the officer genuinely apologized.

"It's ok, I'm a man, I should get over this breakup," I assured him. To be honest, Kelli was the name of a villain whom I met in Corinth, but her alias was Flirting bandit. So they wouldn't find her even if they tried.

"Well, your story is believable, and we didn't find any weird devices on you… so I guess you're good to go."

"Thank you, officer," I smiled, although it wasn't directed to the bald officer; it was directed to the woman who brought me here. The one right behind the tinted precinct windows. I couldn't see her, but I knew that she was there.

"Well, let's get you out of those handcuffs and return home," the officer grabbed my cuffed wrists and unlocked them. Freeing my hands from the steel bondage.

"Thank you, officer, but I can get home from here," I smiled gratefully before I patted him on the back and headed out the door.

"Well, as you can se-" I was about to say when I discovered that there was no one there. I looked at the secretary behind the desk and asked her where the superhero had gone, but she had no clue as well. "Hmm, well, I'm sure we'll see each other again," I hummed to myself; for this girl intrigued me and for that, I wasn't going to let her go that easily.

Whistling off into the night, I headed off into the lively city. Admiring the noisy streets of New York I walked around for a bit; just trying to get a feel of the city by using a special ability of mine. After walking for a while, and making sure I knew my surroundings well; I made my way into a cafe that was still open. For my throat was parched, and my stomach was busy grumbling.

"Well, let's see how good their donuts are, shall we?"

Gwen

I swear that guy had just used a superpower. It was quick, but I saw that as his hand raised to pat the officer on the back, a quick stream of some liquid substance went rushing up his hand and disappeared into his wrist. I wasn't sure if it was just my eyes playing tricks on me, or if he had superpowers, but before I could make sure; I caught a glimpse of the time and knew that I was screwed. Aunt May was definitely going to get on me for getting home this late.

Deciding to find out on another day, I quickly turned a corner and ran off into the night. Running, I pointed my wrist towards a nearby building and shot a string of webbing out; grabbing it, I hoisted myself into the air as I successfully did a backflip and launched another string of web. Swinging into the night sky, I disappeared from the precinct as I made my way to my aunt's apartment.

Opening the bedroom window I carefully called out, "Aunt May?" seeing that no one responded, I crawled into my room and carefully shut the door. Sighing, I fell onto my beanbag and tore my mask off, exposing my warm face to the cold air that came from the ac.

I was exhausted, my arms ached and my legs cried in relief as I stretched them out. Leaning my head on my wall, I thought back to my experience with the raven-haired teen. He was definitely a villain, his whole being cried, villain! But he was kind of hot… Ugh! Gwen, stop thinking about his looks! Before my mind could go back to picturing his amazing features. I stood up and got out my suit, changing into a comfortable pair of pajamas as I got ready for bed.

"Sigh, who exactly are you?" I found myself saying before I shook the thought out of my head and turned over to finally get some sleep.
