So, This is based a concept for Sonic Frontiers I heard, combined with the rising character in the IDW comics. I've decided to experiment with a roll out style of uploading, so I'll upload three chapters over the course of three days, and then go on break for a while. I want to see how effective this style is.

"TAILS!" Sonic shouted at his fox friend as the orb surrounded the young fox, lifting him off the green grass into the sky.
Tails' mouth screamed something at Sonic. Probably Screaming at his buddy.
Sonic tried to figure out what had happened. They had gone out on an attempt at a walk(Which Sonic said was a completely bad idea, not because he didn't want to run slow). Sonic was waiting on Tails, who also invited Amy. Then… then…
Sonic growled, looking up at the descending Eggmobile. Sonic smiled up his cocky smile, ignoring the panic he briefly felt in his heart. "Eggman, back for more I see." Sonic smiled, balling his fist, getting ready to rush the machine
"Oh ho ho my dearest little rodent, I've been back. And making plans you see." Eggman pointed to the other side of the river that led up green hill zone.
There stood a giant metal badnik, it's steel plating seeming to mask it's form perfectly. It seemed to be some sort of four-legged monster. There, the orb containing a pink hedgehog emerged. She seemed to be frozen.
"Amy? Eggman, let her go!" Sonic shouted at the old man.
"Oh come now rodent, how many times have we done this dance?" Eggman laughed, "Go on, Smash him!"
Sonic got ready to run… when the beast jumped across the water at incredible speed. Sonic staggered back, a little thrown off. What was going on? He didn't even have time to react as he was bunted into a tree. Sonic flew through it.
Sonic took a moment to try and figure out what was going on. Ok Sonic…. Think… what is going on? Why is this thing so fast? Normal badniks can't even keep up
"Oh ho ho, Hedgehog, can't keep up?" Eggman mocked, before his smile turned into a snarl, "You've always been an annoying pest in my side. You and you're stupid friends…. It's amazing how those problems resolve themselves."
Sonic growled, and jumped up, before putting on a smirk, "It's all of the same Egghead. I win all of the same." Sonic bent his knees and charged at the badnik. Now Sonic was awake, there was no way he was going to lose.
Sonic boosted forward to slide underneath the badnik, before jumping up to strike the underbelly of the machine. He was ready to feel himself sliding through steel and machine parts. Instead, his back hit something extremely hard, and then felt the sweet compression of dirt.
Sonic uncurled, and saw a green hexagonal barrier floating where he hit. Sonic panted. Ok Sonic, what now?
Sonic skipped around as a foot quickly came down where he was standing. Sonic scrapped by, with no damage, but barely. Sonic jumped around the legs and rammed the back of the foreleg, feeling the same hard barrier.
Sonic grit his teeth when he hit the ground. Sonic zipped around and tried again, this time on the rear. Surely this thing wasn't invincible.
Eggman let out a high pitched laughed, " HO HO HO, LOOK AT YOU RODENT! NOT SO TOUGH NOW! SEND HIM TO THE SEA!"
Sonic looked up as the fist came in full throttle at him. Sonic dove out of the way, flipping when the fist struck his arm. It seemed to push him mostly, but the shock was far more impactful. Sonic slid into the dirt, to the point where he skid into the sandy beach of the river.
He slowly rose. Sonic's breathing was twisted, raged. His eyes were wide. What was…what was going? Sonic didn't know what kind of trick Eggman was doing. He was trying to stabilize as he ran over what happened. The badniks were never fast enough to touch Sonic. What was going on?
Sonic looked up. He realized he was breathing heavily. He couldn't focus. Sonic shook himself, trying to shock himself back to his own state. Sonic balled a fist and punched his own face. He was still panicking. What was wrong with him?
Sonic looked up… and saw that the large badnik was stiff, twitching. Sonic was given a breather. He was trying to make sense of things.
"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" Eggman shouted, frustration bursting from his voice. Eggman smashed on the control panel from his
Sparks began to fly from the machine… small glowing specks flew into the wind. Sonic did his logic, which was not his strong suit.
The machine had Amy… which meant. Sonic growled, panting, his head was struggling to make sense of everything that was swirling around. It had Amy…. Which meant? Where was Tails when you needed him?
Sonic shook himself, what ever it was… he'd get through it… right? Sonic bent down lower. He wasn't going to stay down. Sonic was a hero, and He wasn't going to be beaten like this. He charged up his spindash, ready to plow through the monster. He was not going to slow down here.
Sonic reved up, and unleashed himself square at the orb that housed Amy. He hoped she would be fine, but he didn't know how else to stop the large and imposing badnik. Sonic felt the air swirl around him as he hit the hard forcefield, knocking himself back into the air.
The machine stopped twitching as Sonic uncurled, and a giant fist collided with his body, slamming him into the ground.
Sonic staggered to his feet, before collapsing again. This was new. He loved new things… right? Sonic shook his head and raised himself up, his arms felt heavy…. And shaky. He was terrified. He was going to lose.
"NOW FINISH HIM OFF!" Eggman shouted, "EGG UNIT NUMBER 333, FINISH HIM OFF!"
The Machine screeched, and Sonic desperately tried to get a breather. Could he get the chaos emeralds? Not in the reasonable he needed.
The machine was still frozen. Amy was resisting it, or overriding it, or something. Sonic needed to make sure that it wasn't just a waste of time. He staggered to his feet.
"Come on Eggman, this is…. Going to … the same way… it always has." Sonic growled, trying to put a foot forward, barely stabilizing himself.
Eggman sighed, "It seems I did not fully separate the controls from the conscious. No matter, a minor oversight. No matter, hedgehog."
Eggman pressed a button, and the Eggmobile fired arocket out of the front. Sonic tried to move, but he was still in shock. The blast struck him in the chest, sending him into the water below.
Sonic always saw himself as lucky. He often got into bad situations, yes. But he always made it out better than before, or at least fine. People tended to focus on the former. Sonic found the latter more appealing.
For example, Someone could point out how he got his butt royally pounded by a new machine. How he couldn't save two of his friends from a life of enslavement and misery. How He was tossed into a river and probably going to die.
Sonic, feeling the sand underneath him, sat up, and thought about how great it was to still be alive. In pain, with every cough and sputter of water, but alive.
He stood up, and immediately felt a pain shoot up his ribs. Sonic gasped as he staggered to his feet. Were they broken? Possibly. Nothing a quick trip to the shop couldn't fix.
Sonic took a step forward and winced. The unfortunate truth set in that he was probably not able to run. So a walk back to the shop. He limped home, leaving trails in the sand that would be washed away by river's tide.
His mind turned back to Amy's frozen face. Her look of horror and pain. He kept moving.
The shop was empty. Only Sonic and Tails lived there. He limped inside as the darkness began to fall. He saw the tornado, her repairs complete and ready to go. Tails and he were going to take if for flight after their run.
Sonic shook his head, and worked his way over to the shelf where the small pouch sat on the shelf. He pulled it open, and pulled out one of the beautiful golden donuts. Sonic flipped the ring into the air. When it came back down on his hand, the ring burst into thousands of sparkles.
Sonic felt his body jerk and jab as bones repositioned themselves and set up once again. Sonic panted as he was finally alright. That was good. He could shake off cuts and bruises. They healed pretty quick. Bones on the otherhand… they took time.
Time was Something Sonic didn't have. Maybe Tails and Amy had escaped. If so, they could kick Robotnik's hind end. A common instance where the problem solved itself.
Sonic walked over to the computer, and entered the Recovery Communication network, or RCN. Sonic wasn't very tech savy, but Tails built the system with Knuckles in mind. This would be pretty easy.
Sonic cleared his throat, and entered the broadcast system, "What's up guys. Sonic here, give me call if you can. Quickly please, and not just because I like it fast." Sonic sent it out.
He waited. He waited for thirty minutes, eating some fries from the brothers' lunch. Tails would understand… right? They were bad after being in the fridge anyway.
Sonic growled, and his the broadcast button again, "Seriously guys. I need to know who's out there!"
Sonic waited. He wanted to believe that they were all asleep, but the System had woken him up far too many times to support the assumption.
Sonic was on his own… right. That was a scary thought. He then got an idea. One that he had originally hated for a long time.
A tracker system. Tails proposed it after his… time away with Infinite. Every one of the major Recovery members had a tracker put in their ear. It was irritating at first, the uncomfortable feeling of metal in his ear as he ran. He got used to it though.
Sonic selected the {Find Members} button. The system began to spin up as it loaded the location of his friends. Sonic took the time to Ironically take a shower, swap out some shoes, and do some stretches.
The System Finally blinked on and off. Sonic walked over and looked on the screen. Strange… they were all on the same Continent. He'd visited it once, when he was running around the globe to deal with Eggman at one point.
Sonic twisted his neck, popping it back into place. That was great, He could save everyone in one foul swoop. Eggman was going to enjoy a nice meal he should have been used to by that point: Defeat.
Sonic zipped out the door, ready to go kick some eggs.
Then… Sonic stopped. He remembered the punch, the speed. It was… a monster. It was traumatic. Sonic could still feel his hand shaking. Sonic closed his eyes, coming to the realization: He needed help. Shadow? The guy didn't even bother putting in the tracker, so Sonic would have to find him. Blaze? She would have been fantastic. The Sol Emeralds would have been really cool if they sent her there to help out. Silver? How would Sonic even get to him?
Sonic groaned in frustration, rolling through a few others. Tangle and Whisper were out, they were either dead(Unlikely) or they made sure they couldn't be found by destroying the chip. That was annoying, but he had to respect their privacy.
Sonic did not have to respect the fact that the situation was needlessly complicated. He thought a little harder. There was…Belle. No offense to her, but she didn't seem particularly useful in a fight. Helpful mechanic though.
I guess it's too much to ask for two of me, huh? Sonic thought to himself, before stopping. Of course. OF COURSE! Sonic wanted to mentally jump off a bridge.
He had an option. He hated the option with a burning passion, that was fueled by gasoline, but he didn't see another choice. She was his best bet.

Who is this mysterious character? What could possibly come from the coming chapters? Find out… tomorrow.
This is not my primary story, so it may take time between updates. That being said, I will absolutely be spending time writing this.
Please leave a review. The standard stuff for my other stories( if you feel something post it or PM me, I won't disgrace you or anything for criticism or trolling).
