Nighttime Insanity

Running through them,
we barely touch,
but they all drop to the floor.

I shown no emotion,
but inside I scream,
as some come at me ready for more.

I am a void,
and show no warning,
before I rip them apart.

That all changes,
and it's not them,
it turns out I stabbed through HER heart.

We lock eyes,
and she smiles,
before hitting the ground.

I sit up and scream,
and see my friends,
their faces all around.

I give them a smile,
slip into my mask,
and hope that they didn't see.

Just for now,
I have the comfort,
they're unaware of the other me.
