Betrayal

After a painful moment, Bankotsu reflects on the first fall of the Shichinin-tai.

Betrayed. He fucking betrayed us! He fucking betrayed the Shichinin- tai even if they're all dead now he did.
It reminds me of another betrayal...its reminds me of our first death.
Just three of us now- Renkotsu, Jakotsu and myself. But they were running- they grabbed me, making me watch them die. One by one- dead- Kyoukotsu- Mukotsu- Ginkotsu- Suikotsu- gone. I knew Jakotsu and Renkotsu wouldn't go down without a fight but Jakotsu was just standing there, staring at me with a look that reminded me of a cornered animal.
They had gotten Renkotsu- Jakotsu had frozen. "Jakotsu! Run!" I shouted at him.
"Not without you." He argued. A few guys grabbed hold of him but he fought them off.
"I'm your fucking leader and I'm telling you to leave it's a fucking Order!" I shouted. I hated ordering Jakotsu around, and tears were starting to form behind my eyes.
"They'd catch me and kill me anyway." He replied with a sad smile. "I'd prefer to die like a man- not running." He added.
"Jakotsu..." I whimpered- yeah I whimpered- as few guys grabbed the friend. I shut my eyes as the sword came down, and the tears escaped.
"A sniveling child." One of the men holding me growled. That was the last voice I heard besides my own.
"I AM NOT A CHILD!" I screamed. "And we'll meet again." I added in a low growl. And it was over.
I remembered all of that staring at this ornament that Jakotsu wore in his hair. Betrayed again, the stupid irrational bastard. All I could do to hold back my tears was grip the hairpin tighter in my hand. "You killed Jakotsu, didn't you? Desiring the shard?" I asked. The rest of that was a blur to me.
Now Renkotsu was dead- I was alone. And I left to fight Inuyasha- I had a feeling it would be my last battle....
