Title: Cluedo: Just a Game?
Fandom: Uh board games?
Pairing(s): Surprise!
Rating: G may become more if my mind gets writing.
Summery: One night at "Drop In" or youth group and a board game.
Authors Notes: Blink and you'll miss the slight dog soldier's reference. I would just like to say all of these people are real and this actually did happen, last night to be precise. I would like to thank Nicky who brought the game and her little "My dear Professor Plum", Laura and Lucy for being so annoying and loud and Vanessa for that little innocent move. I would also like to thank everyone for all the confidence they have helped me to achieve, and of course to "My Dear" Miss Wilkinson, who without pissing me off entirely for three years this probably wouldn't have happened, I am eternally grateful and yes I do know my brains are gold, look I'm not wasting them now eh.
Dedicated to: all of the above and ... Chris, (fanfictionmaniac) who I miss, you were the first to boost my confidence with your support in helping me churn out fics. Simon, coz you always bug me to write.
Cluedo: Just a board game?
It was Vanessa's turn; she was playing Reverend Green, which was a little ironic as she was a youth pastor's wife, "I suspect Colonel Mustard in the kitchen with the lead pipe." Nicky who was Colonel Mustard moved her piece to the kitchen; she has a soft spot for Professor Plum who she endearingly called "My Darling Plum." We suspected this was because of her penchant for romance novels, which she would try to hide but we all knew about her secret anyway.
The room was already cluttered with murder weapons, we had the kitchen as the place of the murder but not the person who did it or which weapon was used, I or rather Mrs Peacock had been accusing the Colonel for a while as he was quite obviously special ops trained and would be able to kill someone easily with any of the weapons available, I was a little surprised not to see a spoon on the board.
Vanessa picked up the lead pipe from the library and tried to find a place in the kitchen to put it, failing to find a space she glanced at us all and said "It'll just have to go in between his legs."
She slid the pipe in between them and smiled sheepishly. Laura and Lucy or rather the schizophrenic Mrs White burst into laughter. I could tell Laura was thinking something rude to say by the look on her face; no doubt it would be a reference to Andy, Vanessa's Husband.
I sat back and waited for a few moments, I had barely said more than two minutes worth of sentences. "Well that explains the obsession with Professor Plum then doesn't it." Nicky burst into laughter as the rest of them turned to look at me.
I calmly placed my cards on the table face down, reached for my glass of water and smiled. Although I could feel my cheeks heat up, with the blush I knew would be spreading over my face, I couldn't help but be proud that I was confident enough to voice these little things that would pop into my head. It was almost as good as the time I had made that "constipation" comment down at the beach to a reaction to something one of the boys had said.
I thought of Abi and the things I used to just blurt out and her reaction. "You might not say much but when you do, you've definitely got comic timing." I rolled the dice and couldn't help thinking of who the little pieces reminded me of, and let me tell you I could certainly see SG-1 playing Cluedo for a team night.
