The Truth Realized
Ch. 1- Revelation
Percy Jackson, with his girlfriend, Annabeth Chase by his side, had celebrated the defeat of Gaia at Camp Half Blood with their friends: Nico Di Angelo, Piper McLean, Thalia Grace, Jason Grace, Hazel Levesque, Leo Valdez and Frank Zhang.
Grover Underwood showed up, alongside with his girlfriend, Juniper. Percy looks stressed and tired. Grover taps Percy on the shoulder.
"Hey Percy...do you want to go drink?" asked Grover,
"Eh...I am not so sure..." said Percy,
"Come on, man. I'll be there. It's been a while since we hung out with each other," said Grover.
"Alright," said Percy
Percy then prepares to leave with Grover.
Annabeth barges in.
"Percy, where are you going?" asked Annabeth
"I am going to hang out with Grover, and get drink beer and that fucking shit...I am stressed. I'll be back, k?" said Percy,
Annabeth nods. However, she can't help but to worry for Percy.
Grover tells Juniper the same exact thing Percy told Annabeth. Juniper is fine with it, as long as he doesn't drink to much.
Both Percy and Grover get to the bar at the party. They get a couple of free beers. Once Percy & Grover receive the beers, they start to chug.
However, Percy chugs even more, and gets more drunk.
Grover tried to stop Percy. He screams at him to do so, but Percy wouldn't listen.
"You don't understand, Grover...I have fucking PTSD! I have to drink the pain away..." argued Percy.
"Percy, come on! You are going to hurt yourself more in the long run and others. You don't want to become Gabe do you?" argued Grover.
The son of Poseidon growls.
Gabe Ugliano...that piece of shit. Despite being Percy's former stepfather, Gabe was never a true father to him. In fact, he had secretly beat him up a couple of times, and then when he stopped beating Percy, he went straight to his mom, Sally. He hit Sally the same way he hit Percy. He also accused Percy of things he had never done and bullied him. He drank a lot too, played poker, and smelled nasty like shit. Paul Blofis was more of his human dad then Gabe ever was.
It just compelled Percy to drink more. He is filled with rage. He takes off his Orange Camp Half Blood shirt and drinks himself more.
Until Percy gets drunk. He suddenly sees the weirdest shit imaginable. He sees Annabeth, and hallucinating her to be naked, same goes for Piper, oddly enough. He sees both Annabeth & Piper naked when they really aren't, and he also hallucinates Nico to have a red scars all over his body.
Percy gets all tipsy, and kisses both Annabeth and Piper silly. He then faints on the ground. His heart beating fast.
All of Percy's friends scream, in panic.
Even Juniper…
Percy has fainted. His body remaining lifeless. Annabeth calls the hospital, and requests an ambulance. Suddenly, he hears a familiar voice.
"Percy...wake up, honey." said the voice, that sounded like that belonged to his mother, Sally.
"Mom...?", Percy thought, faintly, as he almost opened his mouth.
(At Bellevue Hospital in New York City..)
Percy is hooked up to an IV and a pipe. He is in a green hospital gown, with tubes around him. He is on the hospital bed, where unknown to him, he laid for six years of his life.
Beep! Beep!
The sounds...coming from the monitor.
Sally Jackson and Paul Blofis, are there, holding hands. They are with a beautiful blonde girl with stormy gray eyes named Annabeth Chase. They are all happy.
"Sally, Paul, I think he's awake," said Annabeth
Sally tears up.
"Percy..." she said, "I never thought I would see you again after six years.."
"It's about time, hun. Hey, I'll call Grover and tell him to come here," said Paul
Paul leaves for a second to get Grover, who is stuck in the waiting room.
A few minutes in, and Grover arrives into Percy's hospital room, with Paul.
Annabeth and Grover then glance over to Percy, and scoot over to sit with him on his bedside. They both smile at him and are happy that their good friend is awake.
Percy's head is throbbing. He is all confused.
"Huh? Where am I? What's going on? Did I pass out at Camp Half Blood? Where are all the others?" asked Percy.
Sally and Paul are confused.
"Camp Half Blood? What's that? I never heard of such a camp before," asked Paul
Sally nods in agreement.
"What? Paul, Mom. Don't you remember? It's the summer camp that I had gone to for Greek demigods. The Greek gods exist and um, they have kids and fight so Camp Half Blood is our training ground," said Percy
Annabeth sheds tears from her eyes.
"Percy. That all wasn't real. It never happened," said Annabeth.
Percy gasps.
"What?!" yelled out Percy, in shock.
"Percy, don't you remember what happened?" asked Grover,
"I forgot already," said Percy
"Percy..You were in a coma for six years. Me, Grover and you were traveling all the way to Montauk after Yancy Academy let out for summer, when a car hit us. Me and Grover were safe but you weren't. We feared that you were dead, and were about to die. Luckily that didn't happen. A young girl named Annabeth, who was about your age, who is right here with us now, saved your life. We took you to the hospital, and the doctors had to put you in a coma. You were sleeping the whole time and we were not sure when you would wake up or if you would wake up at all. Gabe was sentenced to 90 years in prison for abuse and aggravated assault. I divorced him and fell in love with Paul. I told him about you and the fact you were in a coma. He really wanted to meet and get to know you so bad, because to him, you are his son. Our son..." explained Sally, as she continues to tear up.
Percy is shocked.
He was hit with the reality of the situation. He wasn't really a demigod after all. None of it was real. He was just a regular mortal, human being. No water powers. Nor anything.
He was crushed. Almost all his friends, with the exception of Annabeth and Grover, may or may not exist.
Annabeth Chase, a girl exactly his age, was the young woman who saved Percy's life when the car crash had happened. As it turns out, she has been working as a volunteer at the hosptial that Percy is a patient at. However, it's not what she really wanted to do as a career, but had to do it as Helen Chase, her mother, told her to get a job or that she would kick her out if she doesn't get a job, even though he she was only 12 years old. Her father, Frederick Chase, on the other hand, was a Military History professor, just like he was in Percy's dream.
Annabeth and her family had moved from California to New York when Annabeth was seven. She did not want to leave her home but realized there was no other choice. New York is where her brothers, Matthew and Bobby Chase were born after all, and they were going to stay in New York for the rest of their lives.
Her father, Fredrick, had caused the car accident unintentionally, on the way to the hospital that Annabeth volunteers at. Annabeth had felt so much guilty for it, even though she wasn't the one driving the car. Frederick refused to look back, and apologize for Sally for the car accident, which made his daughter angry.
She and Percy's best friend, Grover Underwood, always stayed by Percy's bed side. They would come to him every day, almost never leaving his side, waiting for him to wake up. Annabeth had kissed Percy one day on the right side of his cheek, Percy interpreted that as both of them kissing underwater in the lake, which resulted them into becoming boyfriend & girlfriend.
Truth is, she always had a crush on the boy, ever since she saved him.
Percy looks up at both Annabeth and Grover, but more focused on Annabeth. He observed her. She was always the same blonde haired, stormy gray eyes, California tan skinned girl she was in his dream, only she is wearing a purple shirt with no words on it instead of an orange shirt that said, "Camp Half Blood".
"Annabeth, you look exactly like I pictured," said Percy.
He blushes.
Annabeth giggles.
"And thank you, for saving my life," said Percy
"You are welcome," said Annabeth
"It's good to have you back, man. We were extremely worried about you," said Grover
"I know, G-man. I missed you too." said Percy
Sally runs over to Percy and hugs her son like crazy. She still tears up
"You have no idea, how much I missed you. I thought you were gone forever." said Sally,
Percy chuckles.
"Well, I am happy to be alive." said Percy, with a smirk,
Paul walks over to Percy.
"Percy, I am Paul Blofis. Your stepfather. I heard about everything. It sucks but I am glad I finally get to properly meet my son, for the first time," said Paul,
"I know you. You, of course, got to meet me in my dream, and you were shocked when you found out I wasn't kidding about being a demigod," said Percy, chuckling at the sight of the memory.
Paul smiles.
"You must really love Greek mythology, don't you?" asked Paul,
"Yes, I believe I do," said Percy,
Suddenly, the doctor comes by, with a nurse. The doctor is Doctor Leon Newman, and the nurse is Nurse Jennifer Strong. Both tell Paul, Sally, Annabeth, and Grover to leave Percy be for a bit as the four leave to wait for him in the waiting room. Nurse Jennifer gets out the clipboard as Doctor Leon & Nurse Jennifer ask Percy a series of questions.
A few hours later, even running a few series of tests, Percy Jackson was finally allowed to go back into society.
Annabeth talks to Sally.
"Sally, I was wondering if I can have Percy stay with me for a while, a week or two. Me and Grover wish to show and tell him about the real world," said Annabeth
"Sure. I owe it all to you for saving Percy's life six years ago. I want you to make sure he's careful and safe," said Sally
Paul nods, agreeing with Sally. He's sad he won't get to know Percy for a week or two, but he understands that Percy would be happy to have Annabeth and Grover at his side.
Annabeth smirks.
"You will stay at my place for a while," she told Percy.
Percy's head is feeling a little fuzzy.
"Alright, cool..." Percy said, being alright with staying at Annabeth's place.
Annabeth takes Percy by the hand. Both hold hands and run out of the hospital.
Then, until they get to Annabeth's apartment, they both race each other just like what happened at the end of the Last Olympian.
