BVDs, Skivvies and Beyond
Note: In this EENE fanfic, Ed hosts a show documenting undergarments and he was even able to enlist the help of some friends (and even rivals). Will this endeavor prove to be profitable for the Eds or will the fashion showcase be thrown out like tight shorts ?
"A stain upon the underwear of life."—J. R. speaking about Mr. Bischoff, Monday Night Raw, 9/2/03
Chapter 1—Calvin Klein They're Not
Ed had what he considered a tremendous idea. He would produce a TV show documenting his newfound passion for undergarments. He had called his best friends and exuberantly informed them of his latest concoction. Eddy, of course, predictably wanted some kind of profit from the endeavor while Double D had insecurities about parading around in his underwear. But, Ed reassured him that he would not have to go through with actual modeling. Double D would be behind the scenes, collaborating the entire television show. He seemed to have a knack for organizing down to the tiniest detail. Before long, the three friends had put together a television show like no other Ed had affectionately named BVD's, Skivvies and Beyond. There was only one catch to the entire process... Getting models and of course a studio audience to watch it !
Chapter 2—Uncanny Fashion
Without any coaxing, Johnny 2X4, Jimmy, Rolf, Kevin and Sam had joined what Double D deemed the GQ list. Kevin was the only member on the list that was a little reluctant to go through with the modeling, but once he saw all the screaming girls in the audience, there was no stopping him from showing off his favorite pair of boxers. Fortunately, none of the ladies in the audience were the Canker Sisters so there was nothing to worry about...Yet.
Before too long Ed's show was reeling in quite a lot of money, and Eddy was in euphoria counting it. But Double D reminded them, and everyone else not to let fame get the best of them. Sure, their 'special interest broadcast' was actually getting viewers, and the audience was supportive but that didn't mean that their ratings would always be sky high. Eddy didn't pay any heed to the reality that Double D reminded him of every day. Ed was too busy enjoying his moment in the limelight every day along the rest of the cast. The only sane person in the entire group was Double D, and not even he could save everyone from their own self- indulgent attitudes. Without even realizing it, everyone began to want to do things in their own way and not follow the rules that Double D had so painstakingly laid out for them. It wasn't long until everything began falling apart and the show inevitably had to be cancelled.
Chapter 3—Fame, Money, and Glory: What Are These Compared With Friendship ?
Ed was crushed because his ingenious plan didn't follow through like he had wanted it to. Eddy, more or less concerned about the loss of profit, was pained to see what income he had fly out the window. Deep inside his heart he had to admit that he had put his petty desires before the team. He had also used the money only for himself and hadn't bought a single thing for his friends, and their birthdays were arriving too. At that moment, he had made a vow never to become distracted by money and focus on what was truly important: friendship.
Epilogue
With what money was left, Eddy repaid the models and his best friends with the biggest backyard barbecue and a party that none of them would forget for years to come. They had learned that fame comes and goes, but true friendship lasts for a lifetime. Of course, they would never forget the fun they had shared on the stage, at the expensive of mortification. Yet, it had been worth all of the embarrassment to entertain the masses.
