The glistening white snow that was usually so beautiful was dyed red by the crimson blood that covered it. The battle was over. Finally. After so long they could all go home to their families. Eliwood, Hector, Lyn, everyone of them, right? The day was long and all they wanted to do was get sleep. The battle that day had been tough, and long, and tiring. The winter was cold and the wind wasn't helping. At least it wasn't snowing, so it was tolerable. But before they could leave the blood-stained field behind them, they stayed. Was everyone there? Was everyone with them? There always had to be one reason they couldn't go back right away. Always.
The white snow on the ground that was still visible shone in the morning light. But, near an old building, an area of snow that had been untouched by blood, there was an auburn haired boy just over 17 sitting against the building. Only around him was there blood in that area. And he liked snow. And hated himself for ruining it. He was loosing blood quickly. He would soon have no more blood to give. Give? Yes, give. He had to give blood, his own blood, for the price of others killed by himself. But if it wasn't for his own carlessness, he would be fine. You should always pay attention to what's around you. And if he had, maybe he would have been saved from the sword stabbing pain in his back.
He thought to himself 'How can they do this without even thinking about it?' Of course, how many had he killed without thinking twice? What they did to him was no different. Both of them, himself and the person who hurt him, both were nothing but killers. Good or bad, a killer is always a killer.
The boy opened his brown eyes and looked around him. He was weak and was struggling to keep his eyes open. He looked at the ground beside him. His bow was there, also covered in blood. His bow that was now useless. As was he. He wanted to be saved, wanted to tell him how he felt. Him. He wanted to see him again. His eyesight bluring again, he leaned against the building's wall and fell asleep.
Only minutes after, he was woken up by someone lifting his head into their arms. He tried to open his eyes and see who it was. But he could only manage to open them a little, and still, he could not see straight.
'Wil?' the man said when he saw Wil's eyes open. 'Wil?'
'Hmm.' Wil moaned. He couldn't see him. Who was he?
'Wil...' the voice trembled as he held Wil closer to him.
Wil knew it was him. The one he wanted to be with so much. Just by his voice he could tell. The voice Wil loved so much. Wil opened his eyes, looking directly into the eyes of the man he desired to be with.
'Wil,' the older man stared down at him. 'You need help, I'll be back, but please hold on....'
When he was about to get up, arms wrapped around his neck, not ready to let go anytime soon.
'Stay here please,' said Wil. 'It's nice like this, so don't go...I want you here. I need you here.'
The words came out slower each second they were said.
'I like snow...It's pretty...of course, not as pretty as you...nothing is....I...really...do..love..you, Rath'
And for the last time, Wil closed his eyes, just as snow fell to the ground, along with Rath's tears. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------
