You know what makes me mad? When people writing fanfictions change
Jack Sparrow so he is a better guy for their girl characters. Who would
want to change that smelly old boy? I'm trying my best to describe him as
we all love him in this short fic. Read, and tell me what you think,
because this has the potential to be turned into a longer story. Review and
tell me if you like that idea.
"Ah, Jack.... Ye be a good man fer buyin' me a drink."
Sparrow squinted at his first mate. "Have you been sleeping with those bloody pigs again, Gibbs?" Gibbs looked ashamed. "Oh nevermin'." A young barmaid came over and set two mugs upon the rough wooden table.
"Here you are, loves. Good to see you in Tortuga again, Mr. Gibbs. The pigs out back have been missin' ye." She smiled and wiped her hands on the front of her skirt. Jack gave a half-smile to his shipmate, one gold tooth glinting in the candlelight. She wiped their table off with a grimy rag.
"Miss, may I inquire your name?" Jack asked, looking slightly interested in the busty girl with chocolate hair falling in her face.
"You may." There was a pause.
"Well, love? Are you going to tell me?"
She smirked and stuffed the tail of the rag in her skirt. "A good- looking and rather smart man like you...." She laughed. "You never inquired, good sir."
Jack picked at his beard, smiling still. "I'm inquiring then. What be yer name?"
"Abigial, sir. But now that I've told you mine, I think it is only right that I know yours. I've seen you before, but I know not your name. I inquire."
"And why should I tell?"
She sat down. "I know the location of buried treasure."
Despite his widened eyes, Jack didn't notice Abigail's wink at Gibbs. "I'm Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack Sparrow."
She stared at the mass of candles beside her and waved her finger through the flame. "Well, Captain.... Your stories are quite impressive. My favorite has to be about the East Near Trading Company. True, is it?"
"True?!" He looked deflated. "Of course it's true!"
"And your escape from the mutiny island?"
"Well.... Of course it is."
"I don't believe you," she laughed. "Not the latter anyway. Prove the former and your identity and the ale's on me."
He pulled up his sleeve and showed her a pirate's brand and a blue tattoo of a sparrow. She grinned and patted his hand. "Drinks' on me then." Abigail stood to leave. "Gibbs, good to see you. Captain—"She curtseyed. "A pleasure to meet you." She turned and picked up her skirts.
"Wait!" Sparrow called. She turned. "The buried treasure?"
Abigial smiled gently, then reached down and pulled a gold coin from her bodice. She tossed it to him and went away without a word.
