You have probobly heard so many storys that start with 'Once upon a
time'. Well, this isin't one.
April's mom died when she was 6. She was very sick and her father
wasn't there to comfort April or her mother. He was always working
and she never got to see him. But soon far worse things were to
come.
April sat at her window crying uncontrolably. Tear after tear rolled
down her face. She was crying for what seemed like forever. Then she
looked out into the cold lonely night, into the misty fog that
covered all of Arythia. As she looked she started to make a figure
out in the fog. "FATHER!"
April ran to her door, but stopped. He hadn't been there for her or
mother and still she felt like running into his arms and tell him
how much she missed him. Why did she feel so sad yet so happy at the
same time? She sat back down by her window and started crying again.
For a while she sat there wishing her mother was there to comfort
her.
Early that morning April woke with the light of dawn. Still saddened
by the night before. She got up and walked down the long corridor to
the long curving stairs to the kitchen. She walked slowly to the
cupboard and opend it.
"Hello April," said a voice from behind her.
She turned around and came face to face with her father. He was
dressed as if he was attacked by wolves. With muddy clothes and
bloody knuckles. His smile was weak and full of doubt.
"Father."
"I have missed you so." He said as a tear rolled down his left
cheek.
"I...I've missed you too father!" she said as if the words were
choking to get out. She ran to him with open arms and held onto him
as if to never let him go. She didn't want to let him go. He was the
only thing she had left in the world, besides Maily her kitten and
Annabelle. She never again wanted to lose someone again. They spent
all day together. But she was tired of him telling her what she
must do with her life. All day he spent talking about who she would
marry and how she would live.
Eight Years Later...
"April!"
"Coming Anna!"
April stummbled as she ran down to the kitchen where Anna was making
lunch.
"April can you go to the cupbard and get me some rosemary," she
paused a minute then added. "And some cinnamon please?"
When April came back she gave Anna the spices and went back to her
room. She needed to get away. To go somewhere where she has a say in
what she does. So April grabbed Maily and some other things she
might need.
She waited till everyone was asleep. Then she carfully slide down
stairs and out the front door. She set off on her little journey
with no one but herslf, and little Maily.
