A very sad poem about what could have been, and what he lost. It's kind of a sad love story thing... a poem, I think, about Aeris.

Cloud's Poem

I couldn't keep my promise and up until this day,

It's haunched me for weeks on end while I keep my guilt at bay.

I'm sorry that I couldn't save you, I'm sorry I couldn't stay...

I was a lone soldier, I lost my love and life in one night.

Say goodbye to my kingdom, it's going up in flames tonight.

I tried so hard to tell you, I tried so hard to live

You didn't mean to hurt me, but no love for me did you give.

Shouldn't have left you so alone, please forgive

I wanted to say good-bye, forget my haunted dreams.

But please, oh god forgive me, for I'm not all that I really seem.

That faded city of muted light, a place of death and pain.

Water curtains secrets best kept safe and far away...

That's where I'll be, waiting, waiting for that non-existent day..

This lone soldier I once was, lost his love and his life in one night.

Say goodbye to my humanity, my sanity..my kingdom--
