Disclaimer: Dude, I own Faith in the story. Really. J.K. owns Peter. Really. WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME?

A/N: Part four in my prologue-thing. They go in this order:

1. Sugar Cookies
2. The Night's Stars
3. Promising Forever
4. Someday Soon

Someday Soon

"Peter?" She murmured, rolling over to face the young twenty-year-old man.

"Yeah, Faithy?" He looked down at her with a soft smile.

"Do you think it'll get better?" Her pale blue eyes looked troubled as she stared up at him.

"Yes, Faith. I think it'll get better." He gently pushed her silvery-blonde hair out of her face.

"When?" She stared at him, her eyes creased in wonder.

"Someday." He said simply.

"Someday when?" She prodded for more of an answer.

"Someday soon." He smiled pleasantly as he looked down at her.

"Oh." She fell silent for a few more minutes before asking another question.

"Can we have a child?"

"Yes." Peter said softly, smiling down at his wife.

"When?" She looked pleased.

"Someday." He said, looking back out the window at the snowy weather.

"That's not much of an answer!" She sputtered in annoyance. He merely chuckled and the two fell silent for another few minutes.

"Someday soon, Faith. Whenever you think for sure that you're ready to carry a child." He told her gently, tugging her off the floor and into his lap.

"I think it should be really soon." Faith murmured.

"Really soon?" Peter studied her face, which was full of wonder, concern, and hope.

"Really soon." Faith agreed.

"Are you sure?" Peter ran his fingers through her hair, "It's a big bad world right now. You can't read the Prophet without reading about death. Voldemort's at large, and nothing good seems to be happening."

Faith smiled. "Your wrong. Some good is happening. James and Lily are to be married, we're married, and Sirius and Sweets will probably marry." She wrapped his arms around his neck. "Love is sprouting. And closeness. All Voldemort is getting out of these deaths, is that he's bringing a lot of people together."

"Yes. Maybe you're right. And if you want a child, I certainly want a child." Peter told her. "We'll try when you give the word."

Faith nodded and then smiled as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I bet Sirius and Sweets are sitting in their kitchen over a plate of sugar cookies discussing life right now. They always do; at least once a month. Ever since they had that talk before sixth year that they won't tell us what they said."

Peter grinned. "Indeed. Sirius muttered something about a little girl, though. I don't know what that was about."

Faith smiled, "They'd make adorable children."

"Well, we'll see in due time." Peter said. Faith tipped her head as she sat up.

"You think so? I don't know. Sirius is kind of childish himself to be raising a kid."

Peter chuckled. "I know so. Sirius is immature, but he's got Sweets to straiten him out."

Faith smiled, standing up, Peter's hand in hers. "Pete?"

"Yeah?" He looked up at her.

"I think that someday soon should be now." Faith said softly, "I want a child."

Peter studied her face and then nodded. "Alright, Faithy. Someday soon now."

He kissed her gently before playfully carrying her into the bedroom.
