She Died in Her Sleep
AN: Of course I don't own anything about Harry Potter except the storyline.
Chapter 1
"Mr. Creevey fifty points from Gryffindor! You know better than to actually take out your wand during a Defense Against The Dark Arts class!" Professor Umbridge snapped. Colin shot her a look that could have put her six feet under if he wanted. Scowling Umbridge went back to her desk and resumed grading papers.
When the bell rang Colin and the rest of the fourth year Gryffindors headed out to the Great Hall for lunch. When he passed the hourglasses that held house points he became more depressed and trudged into the hall and plopped down next to Ginny Weasley who's witnessed the whole scene just moments before.
"Colin it's not that bad…it's only 50 points." Ginny said trying to cheer up her friend.
"If she wasn't such a toad head nothing would have happened." Colin sighed as he dug into his steak and kidney pie.
Just then Umbridge strolled into the Hall look sickeningly pleasant about something. She stopped right behind Ginny and Ginny turned to view the toad lady behind her. Umbridge looked more like a toad-like up close and Ginny was scared at the resemblance.
"Ms. Weasley I'm afraid I'm going to have to take 10 points from Gryffindor because your shoes are untied." she said in her mockingly sweet voice.
"What the-uh huh-what did you say?" Ginny stuttered.
" You heard me young lady 10 points for untied shoes. That could cause a safety hazard." she said walking away.
Ginny bent down and fixed her shoes and yelled back "See look they're tied now! Are you happy?"
"That will be twenty more points for correcting the problem without permission Ms. Weasley." Umbridge croaked and walked away.
Just then Ron and Harry passed Umbridge and she spat "Mr. Weasley ten points from Gryffindor for being too tall. And Potter ten points for untidy hair."
Ginny slowly drew out her wand and positioned it carefully between Umbridge's retreating shoulders. "Just one well-placed curse…" she muttered. But Harry took her wand and steered it back into her bag.
"Not here Ginny. Save it for another time when she really deserves it."
Harry said and watched Ginny's features soften.
