From Pen to Paper
by Kevin Armerding

In that bright tuesday morning, two little hamsters were playing in the sand. They were digging for buried treasure. While really into the game they were playing, they never noticed the danger that was looming. A big hungry cat was awaiting in the brush, targetting his hungry little eyes on the little hamsters. The cat waited for the perfect moment. He strives for perfection in every hunt he has, making sure nothing goes wrong. He checks for possible interferance. He checks his positioning. He sees a sees a perfect moment. He leans forward. He leaps! And he is intercepted by a grey hamster. The cat who has recieved a good wack from the grey hamster, is stunned for a moment and soon chases after the grey hamster. Come and get me! said the grey hamster. The cat chased the grey hamster all the way up the hill. You'll never catch Sabu! he added. Sabu leaped off the top of the hill and on to Francios while the cat tumbles down the steep side of the hill. Sabu and Francios fly over the two ham kids to see that a long eared hamster is already attending to the two. Sabu landed near his sunflower seed cart were he continues is public service of free food. Meanwhile, the long eared hamster is speaking with the kids. I am Radar of the Ham Ham Times! said the long eared hamster, I can sense a story from miles away! Now tell me what happened here. Ooh I bet this will make the front page! His smile went to a frown when he heard her just missed his chance to meet Sabu, the hamster in which helps people in their everyday lives. But at least he got the story.

The next day after the next issue of the ham ham times has been released, Radar has been called into Editor Maxwell's office. said Maxwell, We are in trouble. Radar looked puzzled for he expected a raise. Maxwell took a sip of coffie and continued. It turns out that the Hamster Daily Newsletter is gaining more popularity. If they win the populace over, we may loose our newspaper. Radar was shocked, his life was writing, if he didn't have that, he had nothing. What does the newsletter have that we don't got? said Radar frustrated. Maxwell sighed. They get better stories than us. I mean, while our front page story is of two kids being saved from a cat, they've got a story on the new low carb seeds' said Maxwell, If we want to save our newspaper, we are ganna need a news stories, in which what got me to call you up here. Radar listens in closly for it sounds like he is being issued an assignment. I want you to get a story on Sabu, Radar. I know no one has ever gotten a real interview with him before, we need it to save the paper. You are the only ham capable to do it... So what do you say? Radar thought for a moment, then gave a reply: I'll do it!
