a possibility of what could happen have the glitch not worked as well.
That is to say, Xana was finalized, but the team could still save Jeremy.

It was very late when it happened. Xana was in the room with the computer. He looked at it with a kind of passion and sympathy. This was his home. His home for so many years.
He looked at the switch... Was he really going to do this?
Yes. It was going to end now. They should have never turned on that computer. They would have been much happier without knowing about it.
Then, in one motion, he pulled down the switch and rip it out of the computer. It could never be repaired now. He stayed with it during its final moments. Then it went silent.
He dropped the switch on the floor and left the building stopping only to leave a note.

Not too far from the factory, Alieta slept in the guestroom at Yumi's house.
As she slept, the powering down of the computer made her slip into a coma, and then a few minutes later, she died in her sleep.

It was morning when Yumi found her. At first she understand, it was early, but when she realized, she screamed and woke the house. Yumi's parents didn't know what to do; they were equally shaken. When Yumi got the chance, she called Ulreck and Odd.
After they arrived at the house, the paramedics got there. Odd began to cry, and Ulreck was deeply depressed. But they needed confirmation. So the went to the factory and checked out the computer. They found the switch and they also found the note.
The entire note said:
'Dear Yumi, Ulreck, and Odd,
By now you have probably realized that I have been finalized and Alieta and Jeremy are gone forever. I have won, at last. You should have never turned me on. If you hadn't, maybe Jeremy would still be around. For a year we have been bitter enemies. Each time you emerge the victor. Today, that ends. Since there is no Lyoko to go to stop my plans, I will attack soon. I will extend a truce out to you, however. If you want, you can survive and be my right hand men. Or you can end up like Jeremy and Alieta. The day is coming. I hope you choose well.
