"Malfoy."
"Yes, Parkinson?"
"What are you doing for Christmas?" She always wondered what Malfoy Christmases were like.
"Going to visit my Father. Mother. You know, what every other person does for Christmas," he shrugged.
"I'm staying here."
"Well, you always did defy all odds Parkinson."
"Be quiet. It's not funny," but he knew she wasn't being serious anyway.
"Come home with me, my parents adore you," most boys would say such a thing romantically. With a glint in their eyes and a smirk. Malfoy delivered the line clearly, with a roll of his eyes.
"But they aren't mine," she said slowly.
"If you're lucky one day they will be," he was so smug sometimes.
"You mean if I'm unlucky?" She loved kidding with him.

"Were you always this sarcastic Parkinson?
"Probably, hanging out with you does horrid things to me."
"I'm not lucky about a lot of things, you know. I 'm not lucky we have ham for Christmas instead of turkey. I'm not lucky I'm stuck with the parents I'm stuck with. I'm not lucky I have to go here. But I'm lucky for having a friend like you."
"Thank you," she said unsure of what to say.
What do you say to something like that? 'Thank you' sounds so dull and anything else seems too lovey dovey. She was taken aback by his comment but looked nothing but cool and graceful. Her eyes told a different story, however. Her eyes had lit up, and he'd be a fool not to notice. And Draco Malfoy was no fool.
"It's what Chrismtas is all about isn't it?" He said, as though it was obvious he was lucky for having her .
"About friendship and loooove, loooove Malfoy," she took another sip of wine.
"To friendship," he shrugged holding up his wine glass.
"To friendship and love," she repeated clinking her wine glass with his.
