(A/N hi everyone, I'm in a happy mood today, not sure why I just am, so if this chapter makes no sense whatsoever then feel free to tell me all about it ok. So here is chapter 16 ready for your viewing.)
Aragorn stared intently at the ground, clearly seeing the imprint marks of two hobbits lying on the ground, staring around he could also see footprints of two humans.
"A hobbit lay here, and the other" he said pointing to the ground, though none of us, with possibly the exception of Legolas had a clue what he was seeing. "And it looks like two humans, small from the size of their prints were walking around in this area. How comes it though that whereas the hobbits were bound, the girls could move freely."
"Oh that" replied Lauren in an almost cheerful manner, well as cheerful as Lauren can be "I told you, Diane and Elin were hypnotised by the orcs, they were allowed more freedom."
Aragorn however hadn't been listening; instead he was crawling along babbling something about the hobbits cutting their bonds, being followed and then chased into Fangorn.
"What madness led them there" Gimli asked, stupid dwarf, fancy being afraid of trees, even if they could get up, walk about, talk, kill any living things that they wanted to, which in the case of the black Huorns was quite ofte…ok so maybe you can be scared of some trees.
"hey midget, you thought Lorien was evil as well, yet now you fancy its leader, maybe you could be wrong about this one as well yeah?" apparently though everyone, except for Elanor, who sniggered, had reverted to ignoring me. Now that meant I was forced to do something that I really didn't want to do, well actually I did want to do but hadn't really had a good enough excuse before. Opening my breath I started singing.
I know a song that'll get on your nerves
Get on your nerves
Get on your nerves
I know a song that'll get on your nerves
Get, get, get on…
A hand clamped over my mouth cut me off suddenly and I looked up to see that it was Legolas, looking extremely annoyed. That was strange, Aragorn looked slightly peeved, Gimli confused, Lauren approaching the stage of mild annoyance and Sam was grinning, but Legolas looked near to boiling point. Deciding to stop for now, but storing away the knowledge that elves were less resilient to annoying songs, I bit Legolas's hand, forcing him to remove it, and carried on walking, occasionally humming the tune faintly.
Soon we reached the point where Gimli decided to eat some blood, stupid bloody vampire, (Elanor: Hey! Naught wrong with vampires or sucking blood. . . **Picks at scab** Ohh! Blood!) and then we stopped as Legolas, his eyes looking really pretty, started talking to Aragorn in elvish. Having watched the film so many times I knew exactly what he was saying, but I decided to wait for Gandalf to arrive.
Sure enough a glowing white figure appeared and the three proper members raised their weapons, Lauren looked scared, and Sam and I were watching knowingly, waiting for Gandalf to show himself.
Gimli waved his axe, but it shone brightly, Aragorn brandished his sword, but a flame ran down its blade and he dropped it quickly. With a sudden shout of understanding Legolas fired an arrow into the air with a cry of :
"Mithrandir"
"Well met indeed"
(A/N due to me liking Legolas so much I decided to go by the book in this part, after all credit should be given where credit is due, and despite what happened in the film it was Legolas, not Aragorn who first recognised Gandalf, so shall it be written so shall it be done. I think I stole that from Recess but meh.)
So then, the three hunters greeted him happily, Lauren grumbled to herself, I think she had been happy that the fellowship had been decimating slowly, first Gandalf, then Boromir, then the four hobbits, and Sam and I watched the scene, happy that the fellowship was happy again.
All of a sudden a shortish figure darted out from behind Gandalf, and came into our sight.
"Elin?" we all cried, in surprise.
"Helloooo all" she said, happily. "Fancy seeing you here, well actually I knew you were going to be here but…" she was cut off suddenly as we all started asking questions.
"Where are the hobbits?" asked Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli
"Where is Diddins?" asked Elanor and me.
"How did you get away from the evil orcs?" asked Lauren
"The hobbits are with Treebeard, as is Diddins, she always liked him best, along with Gimli so she stayed with him, the orcs all got killed other than Orville, he was going to get squished by Treebeard but Diane persuaded said tree not to squish said orc because said orc didn't want to be a warrior he wanted to be a farmer so he was allowed to be free."
Elin answered all our questions at once, and Elanor, Gandalf and I were the only ones who didn't look confused.
The three hunters and Lauren were all very confused, Lauren about Treebeard, and the others about Treebeard and Orville. The rest of us though knew who Treebeard was and Elanor and I had heard about Orville from Lauren, and Gandalf didn't really care about an orc who wanted to be a farmer, so long as said orc didn't try to kill him.
We decided to let Gandalf explain who Treebeard was, and then Elin told them who Orville was, as she knew the most about him.
So then we decided that we were bored of the forest, pretty as it was. Ambling slowly we left the wood and once more stepped out onto the plains of Rohan.
Whistling loudly, causing the rest of us to jump, Gandalf looked around. Soon we could here the approaching gallop of what was unmistakably a horse, or six. Soon all the horses had arrived and after Gandalf gave a quick explanation to the ignorant ones among us on who the pretty white horse was we all leapt onto them.
Fine Legolas and Aragorn leapt, Elin got up pretty quickly due to her weekly horse riding lessons, Gimli climbed clumsily up, Gandalf got onto Shadowfax surprisingly nimbly for an old Maiar, Elanor and I climbed up with about as much grace as a pair of hippos and Lauren, after five minutes of attempting to get anywhere near the horse grudgingly accepted Legolas's offer of holding said highly intelligent animal for her.
And then we were off riding again, joy and deepest bliss, seriously I have no luck riding. Once when I was riding at my aunt's stables I succeeded in riding the horse straight into a tree, then when I went pony trekking in Scotland my horse rode backwards ala Gimli when they get attacked by warg riders.
Luckily my horse seemed reasonably well behaved so I had yet to fall off. That meant that I managed to get to Edoras easily with no problems, less could be said for Lauren, she was thrown off her horse no less than three times would you believe. Even the animals think she's evil.
(A/N I shall finish this chapter here as if I do anymore I will have to do a lot before I reach a suitable ending place and I cannae be bothered at this moment in time.)
