Oh, and the whole tonic thing is from Ella Enchanted (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've read the book and you read below).

(A/N) Okay… Everyone R&R!!! Thanks

And here's the next chapter…

Forever Elly

Chapter 3

I violently chucked some clothes towards the bag in the middle of my floor.

"CRASH!" The clothes had knocked over a vase.

I didn't care.  I was too angry to bother cleaning it up.  It's an old vase anyway, I told myself.

            I cursed under my breath.

Why was he doing this to me?!

My father had given me until the next afternoon to pack up my current life as Elly of Ayortha, and move into my new life as Princess Eleanor of Frell.

I would barely even have time to say goodbye to my friends or the places I loved before the Royal Carriage would be sent for me.

I fiercely threw more clothes at the bag.

There was another "CRASH!" as a flowerpot fell this time.  Oh well, I hadn't liked those flowers. They made me sneeze.

I stomped my foot in anger.

"CRASH!" as the glass frame of a portrait on the wall broke as it fell.  A portrait of my great-grandmother.  Oops… I had liked that.

"Arggg!!!" I screamed, scaring the birds outside my window and causing them to fly away noisily.

            I was losing this battle.

I stormed out of my room, treading on broken shards of pottery and glass (Ouch! Oww!), and into the kitchen.

"I'm going to Chelsea's!" I shouted to Mandy as I walked out the side door.  She was packing in her room, since she was also coming to the palace.  She would be head cook; her meals were the best anybody who ate them had ever eaten, and apparently my father, the king, knew this.

"Be back before dark!" she shouted back as I slammed the door.

I was mad at Mandy too.  How could she have kept every true thing about my life from me for 15 years?!

As I trudged to Chelsea's, I realized that since the stomping was hurting my feet as I walked, then it would be beneficial for my own sake for me to walk normally.  Therefore I ceased stomping, which caused the pain in my feet to also subside.

This action also served to calm me down by the time I reached Chelsea's house.

I walked up to her door and knocked on it, resisting the urge to shout her name so she'd come more quickly.  My, but I was impatient today.

The door opened and Chelsea's little sister looked up at me.  "Chel-ly! It's Elly-belly!"

I smiled at the nickname.  Chelsea's cute little sister, Rachel, had liked the sound of Elly-belly, and had taken to calling me so.

"Chelsea! Come out here!" I shouted.  "I need to talk to you!"

Chelsea hurried towards the door, looking worried.  "Elly, what is it? Are you okay?"

I figured this last comment was in light of the fact that my hair was probably quite disheveled from my fit of anger.  Plus she could probably see the anger still flashing in my eyes, and the redness in my cheeks.

"Chels, I've got to talk to you.  Now. Tell your mother you'll be back later."

Chelsea, noticing that I meant what I said, nodded and disappeared.  She reappeared moments later and walked out, closing the door behind her.

"Elly, what is it? What's wrong?"

I wanted to tell her, but I had to take precautions.  "Let's go to the riverbank spot.  I don't want anyone to overhear."

I could tell she was concerned, but she knew enough not to ask me any questions.

We walked briskly to our place by the river which had been our secret playing area for many years.

When we got there Chelsea looked at me expectantly.  "Um… I don't know where to begin." I said quietly.  Chelsea stared.  To see me like this was a new thing.

"Well… I guess to start, you know when the royal announcers came to the marketplace to announce the queen's death today, well…" and I told her what Mandy had told me.

At the end there was a look of shock on her face and her jaw was by her ankles.

"Princess?! No way! That's awesome Elly! Oh but that's so sad about your mother.  You learn you finally have one, but she's dead.  And apparently your father is horrible.  Oh Elly! You have to leave here.  That's awful! I'll miss you so!  You have to come back to visit lots!"

I sat solemnly on a rock and regarded my friend.  "We leave tomorrow afternoon."  It was the one thing I hadn't mentioned yet.

            Chelsea's eyes widened.  "But-but, that's so soon!"

I sighed and nodded, closing my eyes.

"Well, princess, you'd better write to me."  Chelsea teased.

I groaned at the title.  "Don't you ever call me that, Chelsea." I warned.

She laughed and we started walking back.  The sun had begun to sink in the sky.           We quickly reached her house and were forced to say goodbye.  I wouldn't have time to see her tomorrow.

I gave her a hug, and after telling her I'd write, since neither of us knew the address of my new home, I left.

I walked home slowly, preserving my favorite sights to memory.  I knew I wouldn't see them again for a long time.

When I got home Mandy had dinner ready, and after eating, I went to finish packing.

By the time I was done and in bed, it was pretty late.  I got into bed and was drifting off to sleep when Mandy knocked on my door.

            "What?" I croaked.

"Tonic time," Mandy said with a smile."  She came in with tonic in one hand and a box in another.

I groaned and rolled over, facing the wall.  "I'll have none of that, Lady.  You need your strength," Mandy told me.

"Fine," I said as I rolled back over and took the tonic from her hand.  I poured it into my mouth.  Tonic was nutty and good, but it felt slimy, like a frog, as it went down your throat.

"Hey, Mandy, is tonic some fairy concoction?" I asked, with a smile.  I'd partly forgiven her for not telling me who I was.

            "You'll never know."  She declared.

She pulled out the box I'd seen when she came in.  "I have a present for you, sweet." She told me.

"Why?" I asked.  "You're still coming with me… Right?"

"Of course, of course.  It's just.  Well, this should be yours now."  She handed me the box.

I opened it and inside was a large book.  I opened it and inside was a bunch of fairy tales.

"Ooh, Mandy, a fairy tale book.  You know how I love my fairy tales.  I'll save it for the journey."

Mandy chuckled.  "I remember your great grandmother saying the same thing when she received this," Mandy told me.  "It's a fairy book, love.  It grows on you."

I looked at it in awe.  "Wow, really?"

            She nodded her confirmation.

"Well, love, I'd better go so you can sleep.  We have a long journey to Frell ahead of us tomorrow."

            I groaned as she left.

Why'd she have to remind me?

OoOoOo Elly has a temper there… And obviously not a very good throwing arm…Heh ;)

Okay, so there's chapter 3… I'm almost getting to Frell… where the real action begins!

Incase you joined the wagon party on my story late, and you happen to read something about it later, I have gone through all my chapters revising, and on this chapter, I used to have a contest... I recently took it down, but if you hear references to it in later chapters, it's just the aftermath.

Just want to thank my reviewers so far…

Babyjayy – thanks for reviewing… Twice! You rock twice as much!

Pranksterqueen – thanks… I'm still sort of stuck in the beginning, since there are a bunch of things I have to talk about in the story before getting into the good stuff, but it'll get there eventually!

Alli Kat – thanks :) first chapter's up now… and by the time you read this, third chapter will be up too!

Hip Hop Diva – I haven't decided when it takes place exactly yet… but I've decided that it's either going to be 2 generations after Ella or 3… When that becomes more pertinent to the story I'll specify it… but it doesn't really matter right now in the story, but you have an idea at least… Also, Ella of Ella Enchanted is dead… sobs uncontrollably …she got old and died a natural death… but I promise to you, in my very trustworthy opinion and writer's license, Ella, of Ella Enchanted, lived a very very long and happy life in which she fulfilled all dreams and destinies and triumphed in everything. Oh, and I've just decided that she and Char died at the same time, together… Why, you ask? Because I said so. :) AnYwAy… in that case it might be more likely to be 3 generations after her… but whatever, I'm just rambling now…

Actually… Right now… Just this second (This very second)… I've decided that my story takes place 3 generations after Ella of Ella Enchanted… That means Elly of my story would be considered the great granddaughter of Ella of Ella Enchanted.  Or, it could mean that Ella of Ella Enchanted would be considered the great grandmother of Elly of my story.  If you are confused, it's to no avail, for I myself am also confused.  Except that I'm not since I wrote this... Hmmm… faraway look in eyes Uhhhh… Okay, just ignore me and keep reading…

Who really cares? – Thanks, but what do you mean exactly by if I keep on working on it I'll get it?  What will I get?  Just wondering... So thanks for reviewing and everything… just specify what you mean next time so I can make improvements and stuff… By the way… I care!!(referring to your name)

BookwormsrokThanks! It's coming along… I can't go that quickly though because I've been soooooo busy lately… But I'm doing my best… Thankfully it's the weekend, which is why I've gotten a chance to write this.  If you're lucky I might get to write one tomorrow too!

Okay, well I guess that's all…

R&R!

  Thanks
