(A/N) Disclaimer: Ella Enchanted belongs to Gail Carson Levine. Whatever you don't recognize from Ella Enchanted probably belongs to me.

Here is my small author's note. (Reviewer comment answers will now be at the bottom of the chapter.)

I don't think anyone knows I posted the last chapter… It says I last updated on March 28, but I did update on like the 8th or 9th of April. I swear. Well, now ya'll can find out. I replaced the author's note with Chapter 6, so...

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET READ CHAPTER 6, READ THAT FIRST.

Here's Chapter 7…

Forever Elly

Chapter 7

It was Bree. It had to be.

The boy was quite handsome. He had tousled dirty blond hair and endlessly deep blue eyes. His arms around me were strong and muscular. He was wearing a white button down shirt, which had smudges of dirt on it, as well as dirty breeches. He looked like he had been carrying wood or something. But then, we were sitting in the dirt, so I probably looked that way as well.

That wasn't what I noticed though. Well, I'm lying. The eyes were a dead giveaway.

But what I mean is his smile. When I was younger, I was always entranced by his smile. It was so captivating. I would do anything for that smile. It was one of those special smiles that felt like it was made just for you.

"Elly?" He breathed in disbelief.

I smiled, staring into his eyes. "Bree."

He blinked a couple times. "Are you really here?"

I smiled slyly and pinched his upper arm.

"Ouch."

"Well, you're not dreaming."

It was like it suddenly clicked in his brain that I was really there. "Elly!" he cried, and wrapped his arms around me in an awkward hug.

Awkward on my part. I wasn't even facing him. He was hugging my back. But that was how we were sitting, and I don't think he cared.

Then he realized how we had fallen, and eased himself away from me to stand up.

He held out his hand to help me up, and I grabbed onto it, but I could not for the life of me get my legs to stand up.

"Um… Bree, I sort of got hurt a while ago, and I'm still recovering, and I can't get up." I flashed him a smile. "Care to help?"

He frowned. "Hurt yourself how?"

"Oh… Well, it's a long story. I'll tell you later. I should really get back. Mandy might be looking for me soon.

He only looked confused at this.

"Elly. Tell me what's going on or I won't help you."

I glared nicely at him. Well, as 'nicely' as one could possibly glare. Almost teasingly.

"Well, if you don't help me, I won't tell you."

He smiled his special smile at me. Our argument was one from our childhood. We would have gone on for hours.

"How about a compromise? You talk while I carry you back… wherever you're going."

"Okay." I agreed.

He bent down and slid an arm under my knees.

I put my arms around his neck and he picked me up.

I grimaced at the initial pain from beneath my knees as he stood, but once in standing position, they were fine.

"My god Elly, do you know how light you are? Are they feeding you enough wherever you are now? Wait. Where's Mandy? Is she still with you? She would be feeding you right. Elly… What's going on?"

I giggled. He mock frowned at me, but I could see the smile tugging on his lips, and soon I had him laughing.

"Okay. Enough. Where are we going and what happened? Why are you here? What's going on? Wh-" I cut him off.

"Do you want me to tell you the story or not?" He clamped his mouth shut.

"Okay," I said. "It all started in the marketplace. These royal men from Frell came announcing that the Queen had died, and…" I told him everything.

I figured that my father had not wanted to mention me to anyone outside the palace, but first, Bree worked in the palace, and second, he'd been my best friend for many years. He was the one person I knew I could trust, apart from Mandy of course.

Now my father was a different story. I had been here for a while. Yet he was not here yet. He had not seen me yet. His demands that I come immediately seemed rather suspicious. However, I thought naught of it, dismissing it as he didn't care about me, like Mandy had warned.

However, I had yet to uncover the truth.

(A/N) Okay, another chapter… kind of short again, but oh well, it's midnight and I have school tomorrow and a softball game and I'm really tired, so I'm going to go to bed. Let me know what you think!

Thanks to my reviewers…

Firepixie0071Yeah… Sometimes I still think things like that (referring to the paragraph). And I seriously don't mind when you post excessively in the review section… Really. On another note… a bomb threat… wow that would have freaked me out. Oh and the whole parental settings thing… my mom set that up for me… and so I went on my dad's screen name and unset it (hehehe I'm so evil)

Yaukira – I completely agree 500%... Jack and Sarah are so screwed it's not even funny. I'm sooooo angry at them right now… God, you probably think I'm some psycho now… getting angry at characters in a story… but it's true. I am. Please please please don't throttle me. I don't handle death well… I might not be able to return and gasp I wouldn't be able to finish the story!

You all should know that I'll be reformatting all the chapters so they'll have bold and italics… since I finally figured out how to do them. So if I don't update for a little while, I was probably redoing the previous chapters.

One last thing… Check out my stories on fictionpress.com. If you want the info on them, check my profile.

Thanks
