Disclaimer: No, I do not own KND. If I did, I wouldn't be writing this for nothing….
A/N: I realize this is unconventional. But if you can write out of cannon on every other show…why not KND?
Some Things Are
Memories.
He knew there were some he would be more than happy to part with when the time came to have them erased.
He opened the door to the ice cream freezer.
"Well, now; what have we got here?" Grinning widely, he removed one of the personal cartons the ice cream had been separated into. He continued to beam as he closed the door and went to the spoon drawer. Humming a tuneless song, he fished one out and made his way back to the table.
"Homework is the lowest of lows, isn't it?"
She only mumbled in response, her eyes still glued to the pages of one of the numerous books surrounding her.
Groaning, she ran a hand through her distraught hair.
He scooped a spoonful of the ice cream into his mouth and glanced around.
No on was present, save for the two of them.
He returned his thoughtful glance across the table, and to her.
Thinking about how cute she looked when she was working hard, he stuffed another heaping pile of ice cream into his mouth.
She looked up, feeling a gaze upon her. Smirking, he looked away.
"What?" he asked daringly.
His thoughts turned to what would happen when she turned 13. She'd be take away and returned to a normal life, every memory of him erased from her mind forever.
He knew it was a while away yet, but he still wasn't too sure if he would be able to handle watching her live, and not even recognize him.
Not that he would be able to try living like that very long. It wouldn't be long before his every memory of her would be erased from his mind, too.
He still hadn't decided which was worse.
Appetite suddenly lost, he dropped the spoon in the container.
"Is something wrong?" He glanced back up to see her staring at him.
"What?" He frowned. "Oh, uh…no. Just this stupid homework, that's all."
"Is that the fourth flavor?"
"Yeah, why–" She grabbed the spoon and stuffed some in her mouth. She looked up at him and smiled slightly.
"Something wrong, Wally?"
A smile slowly formed on his face.
He scooped up more ice cream with his fingers which he stuffed in his mouth.
He knew, eventually, they would be erased from each other's minds. Some of those memories he'd be glad to part with.
But something things were worth remembering.
"Not a thing, Abby."
