CHAPTER ONE: THE INVITE
Mario returned from saving Peach from Bowser only hours before he received a letter from mysterious sender.
"Luigi, did you see this letter?" Mario asked. He had just picked it up off the table in the living room.
"I saw it but I didn't open it." Luigi said, walking into the room.
"It says it's addressed to the Mario bros." Mario said, picking up a letter opener.
"What's it say?" Luigi asked.
"Hold on, I'm opening it." Mario said, pulling the letter out of the envelope.
"Let me see that." Luigi said and snatched out of Mario's hands.
"Hey!" Mario yelled.
"It says:
Dear Mario bros.,
I am a new comer to the mushroom kingdom and I am holding a tournament in the Forest of Illusions. I am only inviting the best of the best when it comes to fighting and you two will be the guests of honor if you are able to come. If you can find your way to the tournament area you will skip the preliminaries and be in the tournament automatically. Also, since I am such a big fan of yours and respect your thoughts of who are good fighters, I would like you to bring one guest to try out for the tournament.
I would love it if you could make it and please don't invite someone extremely weak. Also the winner of the tournament will have the exclusive chance to play me in my game of choice. You must be one of the first one hundred to the grounds if you want to enter. I'm sure it will be a good time, and if you beat me at my game, you can have anything your heart desires. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you at the grounds.

P.S. – The tournament starts Saturday, that's tomorrow." Luigi read.
"How did he know that?" Mario asked, looking a little confused.
"I don't know. You want to go though?" Luigi asked.
"Sure, I don't have anything better to do." Mario said.
"So lets invite Yoshi to go then and we'll leave early so we'll get there before other people." Luigi said.
"Ok, I'll call Yoshi now." Mario said, going into the kitchen.
"I still wonder about that Pegasus guy…" Luigi said to himself. He walked into the kitchen to join his brother.
Meanwhile…
"Mr. Pegasus, the invitations have been received." A man in a suit and glasses said.
"I know. My plan is going to work this time, I can feel it." Pegasus said, sipping fruit juice from a fancy glass.
