Chap. 1 ctn.
"Rachel!" A woman rushed into the room and flicked on the lights hurriedly. At this, Rachel covered her eyes with her arm letting her blonde hair fly all over. "Oh, my mistake. Are you alright darling?" She grabbed Rachel's arm and dusted her off.
"Yes Nana, I'm fine." Rachel grunted, pulling her limb away and backing off.
"Very well then, sleep tight dear. You too Ginny." She added looking to the bottom bunk, where from under the covers was visible a few locks of crimson hair.
"What happened?" Ginny asked, peering out from under the sheets nearly strangling her.
"I hit my head and rolled off the bed." Rachel replied plainly. It came out all too seriously, and now she could not supress a giggle.
The red-head also giggled. "Bad dream?" She asked.
"Yeah," Nervously Rachel gulped and to cover it up switched off the lights. "Bad dream." She repeated and climbed up to the top bunk again. Once there, she reached to the dusty ceiling fan and grabbed from it a tiny gold bracelet. Gently, she ran her thumb over the small tag on it, tracing the letters that her fingers had nearly memorized from tracing them so much. As always, she ran into the scratch on the words, such a scratch that some of the letters were no longer ledgible. 'PERSIPHONE X RIDDL', were the letters she could make out. The rest were dented and scratched, as if they'd been striken on something.
Carefully, she ran the delicate chain through her fingers. It was so small and tiny, not at all fit for her wrist. More for the wrist of a child...
Those thoughts fresh in her mind, she lay back and fell asleep peacefully, bracelet still in hand.
