-=-=-IMPORTANT! MOUI IMPORTANTE! READ HERE!-=-=-

The Zack and Cloud (Zack Kingsword and Cloud Efirts) are NOT the zack and could from FF7!!! Stephi and Reku (mentioned minorly) are also spoofs of other FF/KH characters, Sepiroth and Riku. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE! THAT IS ALL!

I do not own any FFs, Kingdom Hearts, or Fire Emblem, which I stole this chapter title from. Have fun reading! .

"Outcast: Chapter 1: Taking Leave"

It had been a year since the Caravan had returned. It's fighters, Zack, Glorian, Cloud, Stephi, and Reku, had been officially free for 12 months. All but Zack had enjoyed this time. Zack had become reclusive and not spoke much. Cloud had visited him occasionally, but other than that, he had been alone.

Zack had fallen into somewhat of a depression. Fighting was his life for five years and he longed to return to it. He had been plotting out battle strategies to share with the new caravan when they returned for the one-year ceremony, but the moment those were found, there was chaos.

The town elder, no longer the one that had been there when Zack was caravanning, called an urgent meeting of the entire town that was there.

"I feel great sorrow to admit," spoke the elder, "that Inzia's 100 years of peace had been threatened to be completely upturned." There was a gasp and quite a few mutters when he paused after that statement. "If is one of the caravanners of a year ago." All eyes shifted to Stephi, standing with his young daughter, and his wife, another caravanner, Glorian. Then to Reku, standing off by him self. Then to Cloud. Then, lastly to Zack. Then the mutters and whispers began again.

"Silence!" came the elder's voice, "Do not decide who it is, for none of you know. Step forward . . . Zack Kingsword!"

The village was silent as forwards the Headband stepped. Cloud Efirts nearly ran to his defense, but Zack's hand on his shoulder steadied him.

"It has been found that you had battle plans strong enough to destroy the peace of this town. Merely possessing them means instant exile."

"...I am guilty. I created those battle plans."

Slowly, the elder approached his, and draped a chain around his neck. On it was a tiny chip of the crystal to protect himself. Zack bowed and turned, walking off, still keeping his calm, emotionless stare focused ahead. Cloud turned his back on the elder and watched him.

"...Zack...?"

The headband paused and didn't look back. "...Yes, Cloud?"

"...don't go..."

"I have to."

Unable to stand still any longer, the cowlick ran forward and wrapped his arms around the headband from behind, muttering, "Don't go... alone..."

"Cloud?" asked the headband, managing to escape his grasp, and looking into his light brown eyes, "...You'd come with me?"

"Yes!" he nearly shouted, "Yes! If I could be with you, I'd follow you into the deepest pits of hell!"

"...Well, that where we might end up with my luck..."

"Please let me come..."

"...I suppose, Cloud... I suppose..."

The two clavats slowly trudged from the town, Zack remaining silently emotionless, and Cloud just staying close to Zack.

They had left everything behind, Cloud by free will, had only the other;f friendship to depend on.
