Hi everyone! This is my first fan fiction, so read and PLEASE review and tell me what I need to change. Praise would be good as well....... This story takes place right after the cultural diversity dance, when Mia has gone home and is writing in her journal. I don't know the correct dates so I won't put them in. So anyway, enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Mia, Michael, Lilly, or any of Meg Cabot's wonderful characters. Anything you do not recognize is mine.

Mia Oh my God. I am so happy I could scream........Michael danced with me at the Cultural Diversity dance! He danced with me, ME of all people! He could have danced with some other pretty senior girl, but he chose me. I mean, he could have been feeling sorry for me since I didn't have a date, and I was just his little sister's geeky best friend. But I prefer not to think about that.

And after that we went over to his house, along with Lilly, Boris, and the rest of the crowd, and Michael took me to his room and sang that song Tall Drink of Water........oh, it was wonderful.

And not only that, but I'm not failing algebra anymore, thanks to Michael! He is so perfect, and way too good for me. It's no wonder I can't get a boyfriend. All the guys around here are so popular and good-looking, and I'm just a freakishly tall princess who has her algebra teacher for a stepfather. Who is terrible in algebra.

Great. I was so happy, and now I just brought myself down. Maybe I should stop being so pessimistic.

Michael is so amazing. I think I'm in love.

Michael

I think I'm in love. With Mia Thermopolis. When her arms were around me at the Cultural Diversity dance, it felt like the world was falling, like I was in heaven. It was even better than talking to her, if you can believe it. Though I do love how she rambles on, and how her eyes grow wide and her cheeks turn slightly pink when she is getting caught up in the conversation.........

How in the world did this happen? I used to be so straightforward and focused, and now I fall apart just because of a girl? Especially a girl who happens to be the sole heir to the throne of a small country called Genovia.

Yes, that's right. I'm in love with a princess. Not that she knows it, of course. I did sing her my song, Tall Drink of Water, that I wrote about her, but she didn't catch on. She did seem to enjoy it, though, which has to count for something, right?

What have I gotten myself into?

There, my first ever chapter finished! I know it's short, but I didn't have much time, and I hope to make the next one longer. Please review, I need suggestions on what to change. Thanks! : D
