Hey guys! This is a parody of the song "Meant to Live" by Switchfoot. I do not own the rights to this song (if I did, I probably wouldn't be sitting here writing songs about band to hold me over until practice on Wednesday-lol!). Anyway, I got the idea for this one earlier today and had to share it...

Lost Our Sets

Stumbling, the ground is wet
And all the piccolos have passed him by...
Hoping that the music judge
Ignores the trumpets and their notes so high...

We were meant to get a higher score,
But we lost our sets...
We left them inside,
They're somewhere inside,
We were meant to beat their ninety-four,
But we lost our sets,
We left them inside...

Dreaming about clarinets
And whether band geeks ever have real lives...
Saxes are marching with their eyes half open,
Their reeds are bent and broken...

We were meant to beat our highest score,
But we lost our sets...
We left them inside,
They're somewhere inside...
We were meant to live for so much more,
Have we lost our minds?
Our brains must be fried...

We want more then this field's got to offer...
We want more than this field's got to offer...
We want more than 5 seconds for water...
We want to go inside, he screams, "Just 5 more times!"

We were meant to get a higher score,
But we lost our sets...
We were meant to get a higher score,
But we lost our sets...
We were meant to live for so much more...
None of this makes sense...
We were meant to live...
We were meant to live...
