I'm here with a side Zelda fic, I dunno, but I think its okay. I have a writer's block on The Children of the Light. So I'm doing a little fluffy one of my fav couple.

The Gateway

Two cloaked figures stood under a gateway. At the same time they removed their hoods revealing two young adults. One was of the royal family, anyone could easily her pale skin and unmistakable features. Her golden hair was flowing behind her, and her blue eyes shone with emotion. She had the Triforce symbol on her hand since birth.

The other was an outsider. Not of the Town folk or any of the knights. He, like the princess had golden hair. His tan skin was scarred in some places... Few knew that though he was a seasoned warrior, he was still scarred and hurt from memories of pain and anguish. His dark eyes showed the pain too, but only if you were sincere.

The female grabbed his left hand with her hands running over the Triforce symbol, and the scar on it.

The gateway they were under was a simple arch surrounded by marble. At the top of the arch, the Triforce was emblazoned. It was in what seemed to be part of an ancient garden. There was a fountain, that was somewhat broken and chipped, and moss grew over it, though it added to its beauty.

The area the gateway was in however, was surrounded by trees, as if it were a secret. Flowers grew in large amounts, not ceasing to stop anywhere. Though trees surrounded it, they ceased to grow and left a large opening above this hidden place.

It was night when they came. At this time of the day, there was a strange glow golden glow... Especially around the gateway. The two seemed to know that this place may seem haunted, but it held memories for them.

Of all the forbidden meetings, and of the times they had saved Hyrule. The pair still met under certain circumstances. This was one of them.

"Zelda..." The young male muttered softly. Her ivory skin glowed from the forest lights, her blue eyes looked green in the light.

"This might be the last time we see each other."

"Link... I know, yet parting is only the beginning of pain," the girl replied. Her counterpart and her sat on the edge of the marble, looking blankly ahead.

They both then looked up towards the heavens. Stars were scattered in the deep blue sky, twinkling secretively. Everything this night seemed to be illuminated by some mysterious power.

"Zelda, the boy started again, "the goddesses have called me to do their work again. Though, I fear much. This may be my last time seeing you. You always tell me not to think so darkly, but I cannot help but wonder... Is this my final calling?"

"Link, even if it is your final, you must not forget that you have been gifted by the goddesses. I don't want you to go either, but you must. If I must lose what I most treasure for the good of our land, I will. Together, we accept our calling."

Link suddenly pulled her into an embrace. Zelda was shocked by this, but for once, she felt safe.

"I will never forget you..."

"Neither will I, Link..."

"Will you wait...?"

"I'll wait even if it takes eternity..."

Silently, Zelda gave up a prayer to the goddesses to protect him.

The world stood still around them, letting them soak each other's presence.

Zelda was still waiting, never giving up hope just as he did. She knew that there was a chance he may never come back. Though, when she felt a familiar presence she knew.

I think its cute. What do you think? I dunno, but I like it
