In Dreams

A/N: Short vignette. Warning - Legonance.
It was many things. It was a warm breeze; it was a field of daisies. It was, perhaps, that he knew all along what twist of fate would occur. It was the sunshine, and the clear blue sky, and the scent of perfume in the air.
It was all of this, and more.
Legolas lay his bow down. He knew without a doubt that today he would be free of the burdens that accompanied every other day, free to do and feel as he wished.
Having donned his favourite spring green tunic, he left his flet and headed down, into a day of promise and a day of the unknown.
He breathed in the sweet spring air, and found himself, suddenly, in a field of daisies. At once, his worries and cares were gone, vanished into the perfect spring breeze.
He lifted one foot, and then the other. All at once he was flying, flying over the daisies in their crowns of yellow and white. Over grasses and passed woodlands he soared, knowing nothing but the pure sensation of freedom.
He frolicked through woods, over streams, and past a village of charming people. Each step lifted him higher and higher into the air, his golden mane streaming behind him like a silken curtain.
The trees were calling to him! "Legolas . . . Legolas . . ."
"LEGOLAS! SHOOT HIM! KILL HIM!"
The Elf blinked, and all of a sudden Aragorn's haggard face came into view. Rain streaked down his face as he aimed, visions of happier times naught but a dream in his mind.
