Together

Summary: Draco decides it's to set aside his differences with Harry. HPDM fluffiness inspired by a Jason Mraz song. Maybe a joint to 'A Co-Write', but reading that isn't necessary. Dedicated to the readers of that, and my co-write Jas. Enjoy!

He puts up his fingers to count one by one how many times he's stolen a glance at Harry, then how many times he's wishing that he didn't have to pass him a dirty look or a indifferent expression every time their eyes met.
Did it again, he thinks. Then again, how could he not stare? How could he not look back when Harry looked first? Penetrating gaze had found a whole new meaning with Potter.
They aren't enemies anymore, but it doesn't mean that they're friends either. I don't know what I am with him.
Draco bites his lip. They talk with each other. They share things together that they don't share with others. We aren't just enemies, we aren't just friends.
What are we?

The setting Sun spend its last moments gliding over his skin. Draco sits back with his palms to the grass, and studies the ripples in the lake water. Tiny leaves float onto the surface, and it makes him think of how he's been touched by another life, just like that.
What are we?
He moves closer to the water and sees his reflection. He tries to see the lakebed, but all he sees is himself. Suddenly, another head pops up beside him while he sinks into confused self-thought.
"What are you doing?" Harry says, seating himself next to the blonde. "Admiring yourself again?"
Not really, just reflecting. In every sense of the word.
Draco doesn't answer him, just keeps looking at himself and Harry in the water.
"Draco?"
What are we?
"Ok. Be that way. But you owe me something."
For the first time, he looks up. Harry looks. Draco looks back. Harry opens his arms up, and takes him into a warm embrace, planting a soft kiss to his forehead.
Draco looks back at their reflection, and the only thing that's changed, is the presence of a smile on his face. He knows his answer, and he's happy with it, he's going to be happy knowing it for the rest of his entire life.
What are we?, he asks himself a final time.
Together.
We are love.
