One Lifetime: Love
Looking back at all that's been,
replaying all the things I've seen,
never able to clarify
why all those faces just passed by
and no one ever really tried
to save my soul before it died
no one ever really cared
what this soul of mine did bear
as long as I managed to obey
neither spotted my betray
then one day my heart cracked down,
threw my masquerade to the ground
I met her and she met me
that's how it starts, this tragedy;
she was so pure, so angelic
a simple smile made me go weak
she was the one –
my destiny, my fate, my home
kept me alive in my every day hell
although I couldn't ever tell,
ignited a fire that warmed my soul
brought back my heart and took it all
how often have I this love betrayed
but she never lost her fate
but now I'm only left to dream,
of how different things could have been;
with the sure fate of agony
she held on strong, grabbed hold of me,
offering me comfort at any price
took the cheating, the secrets, the lies
I watched her fall in silence
not to contravene our alliance
a promise that was easily spoken
and as she wished would never be broken
I'd live for her after she died
and would keep her love forever inside
