J.K. Rowling owns all rights to all the character mentioned, except Jennifer, and a lot of the other stuff in this, so READ HER BOOKS! They rock. Anyway, this is the first part of my story, and if it totally stinks, I'm so sorry, but don't read the rest of it then!

-------------------------------------------------------------
Harry felt numb. He couldn't believe it. He wouldn't believe. Dumbledore droned on in the background, but Harry wasn't listening. He didn't want explanations, he just wanted that hollow feeling to go away.

"Professor..."

Dumbledore stopped and looked at Harry.

"Did Jennifer ever leave Professor? Is she okay?"

Dumbledore seemed to think for a moment.

"Jennifer had quite a shock, as did you. Lupin was finally able to convince her to leave. It will take you both a while to heal, but yes, I believe she will be okay."

Harry nodded, lost in thought. Part of him didn't want to remember what had happened. It just wanted to go to sleep and stay that way. The other part however, realized that if anyone could possibly understand how he was feeling right now, it would be Jennifer.

Earlier that year:

Jennifer couldn't believe her ears. The man who she had been talking to for 5 months now, had just asked her if she would like to join a secret society that worked against Voldemort and the rise of the dark arts.

Speechless, she sat staring off into space.

"Of course, you don't have to," said Lupin, looking a bit anxious, "I just thought...."

"No, no, no. I'd love to come and check it out."

Jennifer had been raised by her muggle mother after her wizard father had remarried. Since graduating from Hogwarts, Jennifer had worked at Flourish and Blotts for 2 years without much change to her daily routine. This was exactly what she had been wishing for. Some excitement in her life might make for a nice change.

Lupin was still staring at her, a look of concern on his face. Jennifer smiled, and his face relaxed, a smile spreading across his face.

"I'll see you later then, shall I?"

"Yeah, of course," Jennifer replied, standing to shake Lupin's hand as he got up to leave.

Once Lupin had walked out of the door of the little cafe, Jennifer sat back down to finish her tea and think over the past 5 months' events.

She had originally contacted Lupin, to try to gain some family roots in the wizarding world. After her father took off to remarry, she was furious. She refused to contact him, but living the wizarding world for 2 years now without knowing anyone really, except for her boss, just made her kind of lonely. Finally she decided to contact a second cousin of her father's. She didn't think he was close to her father, and she didn't want her father finding out that she had become a wizard. She just wanted some sort of family. So, she had contacted Lupin. To her surprise, he had responded, and since then they had been meeting in this cafe at least one a week, just to talk.

They had talked about all types of things. Family, her work, and their opinions on different aspects of the wizarding world. She had been very open and, there was no other word for it, loud about her opinion of the dark arts and those who did them. At first, Lupin had kept fairly quite about it, simply agreeing with her, but gradually he had become more trusting. Once, he told her he was in this type of club, where they believed as she did. Today though, he had told her the full truth about the group he called 'The Order of the Phoenix', and he had invited her to join it.
