The Heart's Secrets
Hmm...This is just a thing done on Gabby's feelings for Xena, obviously G/X pairing. I wrote it awhile ago, and I just decided to put it up as my first thing. I most likely won't have any more, but please R&R, keep the bad ones at a minimum please. You can write as many good ones as you want! Okay, I'll stop talking and you can read and hopefully enjoy.
'What is it that makes us love, that makes us want somebody more than anything in the world. Just having them near makes you happy?' Gabrielle asked herself as she looked over at the person whom she loved, sitting at her normal place around the fire, sharpening her sword, off in her own place. This was the only time Gabrielle could look at her lover without her knowing. As with every time she looked at Xena, she saw the jet black hair, soft as silk, framing sharp cheek bones below piercing blue eyes that could make you faint of fear or fill you with love. She could look at her lover's muscular build without being watched, she could let her eyes wander down the arms that cradled her after their lovemaking, over the perfect breasts and down the smooth legs, then back up to the face that upon seeing filled her with an over-bearing love, and filled others with the fear of the gods. The face of Xena, the Warrior Princess.
Xena knew Gabrielle was staring at her. She loved to let Gabrielle think that she was getting away with a free glance-it could never happen though. Every time Gabrielle's eyes were on her, Xena knew. "Do you like what you see" Xena said quietly, startling Gabrielle.
"Yes" she said, as a laugh escaped from her. "How did you know?" She asked, puzzled.
"I don't know, I just do". Xena replied as she lifted her eyes from her sword to meet Gabrielle's. Whenever she looked at Gabrielle she always saw the love that was in her. Her Gabrielle was full of love, for people, animals, everything, even the mighty Warrior Princess herself. After all that Xena had dragged Gabrielle through, she could still love blindly.
"I love you Xena", It was something that Gabrielle said to Xena everyday.
"I know, I love you too", Xena replied after a moment, then quickly added, "It's about time to get to sleep don't you think."
"Yeah." They cleaned up camp, rolled out the bed, and settled in for the night. "You know what I love most about these clear nights, when all you can see is stars and black forever?"
"No, what?" Xena asked.
"I always seem to get the best stories under the stars, and life seems so much better. At home I used to come out and sit on the porch roof on nights like these, and just write for the longest time." Gabrielle turned herself to face Xena. "But even then, I knew something was missing. Those night just seemed too lonely. Then after you came, the nights were even better than before. Because the lonliness was finally gone. Do you believe that Xena, my heart knew someday you were going to come along and fill up it's hole."
"The same with me Gabrielle." Xena whispered, and gathered her love into her arms as they watched the night. Their hearts without their usual hole.
