Last Train Home

Warnings: Light shounen-ai (SasuNaru) and a tad AU-ish.

His hands were sweating. He hated it when his hands did that. Then he would have to wipe them on the sides of his pants and get them dirty. Naruto wasn't nervous very often. But he was now because his hands were sweating.

Why wasn't the train coming in? It was supposed to be here five minutes ago. Maybe something bad happened to it, like it got hijacked. He would have been nervous for nothing then. Stupid Sasuke, always making him uncomfortable. Stupid fucking Sasuke.

Would their relationship be the same? Ten years was an awfully long time, after all. Ten years… What had Sasuke been doing all this time? Naruto was curious but he knew he wouldn't ask. But more important questions plagued his mind.

Does he still love me? Do I still love him?

No contact for a decade could change a lot of things. Sasuke hadn't even told him he was coming back. Sakura had been the one to hesitantly inform him of the arrival time and place, saying she couldn't be there. Something to do with Lee; he hadn't really been paying attention.

Then there was a train slowing to a stop in the station. People were getting off but he didn't see Sasuke. The crowd was thinning fast yet there was no sign of the other man. What if he didn't come? Something in Naruto's chest started to panic. He saw a flash of black out of the corner of his eye and he whirled around, heart beating wildly against his chest.

And there was Sasuke, searching the mass of people for a shock of pink hair that would be Sakura except she wasn't there. His breath got caught in his throat and he knew at once that he still loved this man more than anything in the entire world. And then Sasuke was looking at him and smiling wide and they were running towards each other.

"Hello," Naruto murmured as he embraced him. From the intensity of the hug, he knew that no feelings had changed between them, that everything was the same even though ten years had passed and it was alright.

There was silence between them as they walked to Sasuke's apartment but they didn't need any words. They were together again and that's all that mattered.

... I can't believe I just wrote something so sappy. Erm, yeah, sort of AU-ish because of the whole train thing. And Sasuke? Way out of character even though he was there for a whole three paragraphs. Running to each other, smiling? --;; Oh well. It was spontaneous.
