Title: Her Smile

Inuyasha POV
She's gone.
I can't believe it. She's really gone.
Why was I so stupid? I drove her away. And now she's never going to come back.
I don't care...Yes, I do.
Dammit. I...am...such...an...idiot! I'll never see her again. She had to hightail it home to her own time.
"And if you follow me I'll kill myself!" Her words still echo in my ears. I didn't really believe that she would kill herself, but she could be really fierce sometimes.
I wouldn't want her to die. And so I didn't follow her.
And just to make sure I wasn't tempted, I had the old hag put a spell on the well so I couldn't get through it.
Sometimes I still sit by the well. I close my eyes and pretend that she's sitting next to me, like before. I hear her voice, sometimes yelling at me for being stupid, sometimes soft and quiet. I smell her scent, much different than that of Kikyo's.
Once while I was sitting here, Shippo shapeshifted into Kagome to tease me. He walked away with 8 bumps on his head.
Miroku and Sango say they feel my pain, but they have no clue how bad I feel. If anything, the runt of a fox is the one that misses her most, besides me, that is.
I would give anything to see her smile at me one more time, just like before.
A shadow passes over me. Wait...I smell something...Kagome?
