Funny, i originally wrote this poem about myself, but then i read it, reread it, revised it and it made me think of Kikyou. This poem states (in my mind) Kikyou's views about her life, so here it is. read, enjoy, review.

Forever Alone

At a very early age
I knew I was alone
I became an adult
Before I could be a child
Life holds no true joy
Because I've not found its' meaning

By the time I was two
I knew the loss of death
By the time I was six
I had faced pure evil and won
Growing up I had no friends
Too shy to talk
Too different to fit in

At a very early age
I knew I was alone
I became an adult
Before I could be a child
Life holds no true joy
Because I've not found its' meaning

With a calculating gaze
I gauge my surroundings
With a cold stare
I scare away any opposition
Everyone is kept at arm's length to spare myself
From the pain of betrayal, loss, and ultimately heartbreak
I am alone
Forever alone

At a very early age
I learned I was alone
Forever alone
I became an adult
Before I could be a child
Life holds no true joy
Because I've not found its' meaning
Forever alone
