Ruka woke up with a start in her bed. She felt something soft rub against
her leg. It was kaoru he was fast asleep. She stared at the Grey haired
boy, his stomach moved slowly up and down in slumber. The moon shone
through a slit in the curtains onto his pale body. Ruka ran her fingers
through her short, thick black hair. She got up to close the curtains, she
heard something shuffling and assumed it was Kaoru moving in his sleep. She
heard a sigh from behind the door. It was Shinji. He was looking in the
fridge for a late night snack.
"What's wrong?" She asked Shinji softly.
"Oh," he sighed "nothing." Ruka shook her head.
"I hate it when you say that." She returned to what she was doing in the
first place and closed the curtains. She slipped underneath the covers with
Kaoru. He slung his arm around Ruka's freezing cold body in his sleep.
Shinji stood by the half open door. He looked through the gap.
'It's not fair.' he thought to himself. He sighed and turned around to go
back up to his room. Kaoru slid his slender fingers up and down Ruka's
side. She hummed once and cuddled up to Kaoru's warm body. She was soon
asleep. She breathed gently and quietly. He stroked her cold silky cheek.
His red eye's shone through the darkness.
'To keep the truth away from her is wrong,' he thought 'I hope they give me
orders to tell her soon, I can't keep lying to her, its wrong.' He kissed
Ruka's forehead and slid down to sleep himself. He lay on his back with one
arm wrapped around Ruka. Ruka kissed Kaoru's neck and sucked at where his
pulse beat. He moaned quietly in pleasure. Rain started spattering on the
window. Kaoru could feel himself drifting off. Black drifted in front of
his eyes and he was asleep.
He awoke to find Ruka panting. "Ruka?" She started breathing heavily and dug her fingers into Kaoru's stomach. He winced. He didn't know what to do. He sat on top of her and put all his weight onto her hips. Ruka reached out to try and strangle him. He kept on shushing her but she continued breathing rapidly. He held Ruka's hands against the mattress with one hand. He applied pressure to a point underneath her left shoulder with the other. He had learned this technique from his superiors for when she would act this way. It strangely clamed her down. He sighed in relief. She started breathing slowly again, her eyes shot open and she saw kaoru sitting on her. "What happened?" Ruka asked with a croak in her voice. "You started acting weird." They stared into each others red eyes. Ruka pulled Kaoru down on top of her. He rested his head on her chest. He could hear her heart beating rapidly at first but it was slowing down. He was lulled to sleep by the rhythmic sound of Ruka's heartbeat.
