A/N: Shame on me! Okay I just got this weird idea for a one-shot and here it is. Please don't be annoyed if my flashbacks aren't exactly like the manga. I don't own any of the books, so it's hard. Also, beware of spoilers for the last book. Here's a fun fact- In the second flashback, where Ichigo yells "Kish", my friends and I yelled at the same point. We like Kish!
Something wasn't right. Ichigo Mommimaya, soon to be Ichigo Aoyoma, looked around in a panic. Something old, her bell necklace Masaya gave her back in seventh grade, something new, her dress, something borrowed, she smiled as she looked down at Zakuro's designer shoes. Ah! That was it! She grabbed a blue feather off the floor. Something blue! She carefully placed it in her hair. The feather was Mint's, from back when she was Mew Mint. Mint had taken a feather from her wings and given it to Ichigo when they first became friends.
No. That was not it. Something was still wrong.
Ichigo thought back to when she was a Mew Mew. It seemed like forever. She first met Masaya around then. Masaya. The love of her life. She frowned. No. That wasn't right. Not right at all.
Ichigo's heart was seized with fear and confusion. Could what she felt for Masaya have just been a temporary crush? Maybe she wasn't meant to be with him. But no! That couldn't possibly be it. She was just experiencing pre-wedding-jitters, right?
Her hand lifted to the strawberries in her hair.
Flashback
"Strawberries. A delicious fruit of this land. And also what you are named after, isn't that right, Ichigo?"
Flashback Ends
"Kish." she whispered.
Ichigo spun around and began to march out of the café. Mint, her maid of honor ran up. "Ichigo-chan! What's wrong?"
"I'm not supposed to be here." Another memory flashed into her head. "And you can tell that Deep Blue that too."
Mint stared at the retreating bride-to-be.

Flashback
Ichigo cried out in horror as the two aliens fought...to the death. She couldn't tell what was going on, who was winning? Kish fell back. "Kish!" Ichigo screamed. Kish fell into her arms. "Kish! I'm so sorry, will you ever forgive me?" Kish looked up with a weak smile. "Just being here is enough." Then Kish's eyes closed for the last time.
Flashback Ends
"How could I have been so stupid?" Ichigo asked herself over and over.
It was obvious to her now. Kish loved her, loved her more than Masaya
,or even Ryou, ever did. When Deep Blue came out, who defended her
against him? Not Masaya, that's for sure.
The last few years she had told herself that was because Masaya was
Deep Blue. But it was still important. Ryou had jumped in front of her
to save her. That was because even Ryou cared more than Masaya.
But Ryou was unrequited love. As much as she tried, she couldn't bring
herself to love her old superior. Kish on the other hand...
Kish had literally died to save her. Kish had fought his master, Deep
Blue, turning him traitor in the eyes of his fellow aliens. And Kish
had lost.
Masaya had also sacrificed himself, but not to save her. He had
sacrificed himself to save Tokyo. It was obvious he loved plenty of
things more than her.
Kish, however, sacrificed everything for her.
"How could I have been so blind?" Ichigo whispered.
When the Mew Aqua was released, everyone had been revived. Except
Masaya.
Ichigo should have known that was a sign. She saw now that he was not
meant to live. She couldn't believe she had ever loved him. Now there
was only one thing she wanted.
"Kish!" she sobbed "Where are you?!" There was no response.
"I- I love you." She whispered.
Suddenly she felt her head being picked up by a familiar hand.
"Kish." She whispered as she looked into his golden eyes. "You came
back."
