Trouble at The Temple

Obi-Wan Kenobi shovelled huge amounts of food onto his rather large plate. Beside him, his friend Bant wrinkled her nose. "Obi! You can eat like a pig sometimes. You know that?" Obi-Wan gave the girl a side-long look, his cheeks bulging. "Mits mot my fault!" He told her with as much dignity as could, having his mouth full. "I'm a growing boy! Mi Meed to eat!" As he spoke, a large lump of wet, half eaten cheese plopped out of his mouth onto the table. "Ewwwwwwwwwww!" Bant screeched, looking both disgusted and terrified, "Obi wan! That is totally gross! Didn't your master ever tell you not to talk with your mouth full?" Obi-wan swallowed and shrugged. "He might have, yes." The 21 year old eyed his friend's plate hungrily. "You gonna eat that?" he asked innocently. "What?" "That!" Obi-wan pointed at a large bactar fruit on Bant's plate. She sighed. "Yes Obi, I am going to eat that." She said sternly. "I would have thought you'd have grown out of that awful habit of eating anything in your sight." Obi-wan laughed, spraying her with milk and half-eaten biscuits. Revolted, Bant wiped her face with her sleeve. "Oooops, sorry." Obi-wan laughed again. But then he stopped, suddenly serious. "Bant, I missed you so much. I missed the Temple. I thought I'd never see you again." He said this more quietly. It had been so great when his Master had told him they were returning to them temple for a visit. Bant's eyes went moist. "I missed you too Obi." She said softly. "I missed Garen too. But we'll see him again." Obi-wan shot her a quizzed look. His other friend could be on the other side of the galaxy or anything. "How do you know?" He asked Bant. Her eyes sparkled. The she stood up. "Garen!" She cried. Obi-wan saw his friend hurrying towards them, lightsaber swinging at his side, dodging through the masses of students who were too thick to get out of the way. Obi-wan was surprised to see him, he hadn't been told that Garen was coming too. The, realizing his chance, Obi-wan grabbed the large green bactar from Bant's plate and stuffed it whole in his mouth, chewing greedily.

Springing to his feet, Obi-wan rushed towards Garen. "Hey buddy!" The tall, dark boy yelled at Obi-wan, knocking him off his feet and squishing him into a tight hug. "Hi...Garen..." Obi-wan spluttered, feeling extremely uncomfortable with his arms pinned to his sides. Garen drew back, viewing Obi-wan with a grin. He whistled. "Boy Obi. You're taller man!" Obi-wan grinned wickedly. "So are you. Look at you!" He stepped back, surveying his old friend. Once a small, slight boy, who had always been Obi- wan's inferior in everything, now he was tall, handsome and well built. Muscled rippled along his arms, he was a head taller than Obi-wan, he seemed to be several shades more tanned than Obi-wan remembered, and he was flashing him a brilliant white beam. Obi-wan was a little speechless. 'Bant!" said Garen suddenly noticing the girl. "Is that you? You've gotten so beautiful!" They embraced briefly. Bant seemed a little unsure of the man, but she smiled warmly. "So have you- oh great, now you're both taller than me!" They all laughed. Obi-wan couldn't help but wonder why he hadn't said something like that to Bant. "It's been way too long." Said Garen suddenly, looking sadly at the two. "Definitely. Seven years..." Obi-wan murmured. They all exchanged looks.
