Dedication Fire Tears [Alena]

Why Because I love her O-O! I finished almost half of her stories [again] today, and did you know that she's writing ZoroLuffy?! -spazz of glee- Writing Megaman Battle Network, Yugioh [well, before], and One Piece x.X Gods, I could kiss her now.

[beforehand]

Inspired by the summary of dewinged's "Up Close": You do not like being told that you are imperfect. Also inspired by "you are my reflection" from Fire Tears' [Alena's] "Naked." The "predictable" comment is taken from Cassandra Claire's "Something Impossible" [again].

Jounouchi once asked him why.

For a moment he hadn't answered, because for some reason, he didn't know.

He didn't understand.

So instead of responding, he had spat out something similar to because it just is, mutt. Jounouchi had, predictably, not reacted well to being snapped at when he was only being civil (for once). But what had surprised the both of them was when Jounouchi merely glared at him, a frost-bitten, hateful glare that clashed with his eyes.

He'd left feeling emptiness scraping at the walls.

--

Now, he's staring at the rear-view mirror, wondering why he's even thinking about it because it's nothing.

Because it's nothing at all.

--

His face is smooth and jagged and sharp but soft. It's not covered with acne, scars, bumps, or anything a regular teenager might have. Gozaburo had certainly made sure that everything that could've been seen wouldn't be seen.

When he reaches out and touches his reflection, there's a sensation buzzing at his fingertips that he can't describe.

Jounouchi once told him that all people have weaknesses.

He had huffed and said that well, he didn't.

His lips parts in a circle as if to say something.

There's a blotch in the mirror he can't seem to wipe off.

--

Jounouchi's arms are at his sides when they meet again; when they meet alone.

He is speaking but Kaiba doesn't hear a thing he says.

Minutes later, neither of them says anything because there is nothing to be said. Jounouchi finally backs away, looking ready to leave.

He doesn't know why, but he's holding his breath.

He doesn't know why, but he moves forward without a moment's hesitation and stops Jounouchi from moving. Not with his hands, however, even though they're reaching towards him, frozen with the sudden release of breath.

"Show me who I am."

For a moment, he thinks that Jounouchi may be smiling.

…laugh Oh, dear lord, this is so dorky that it's positively horrid. If you're confused: Jounouchi asks Kaiba something [your choice], most likely a question to why they're "together." Kaiba obviously doesn't know why [in fact, that was inspired by Sora-sama and her "Romance Is"] and waves Jounouchi off. Jounouchi gets mad. Kaiba thinks about it anyway and realizes that he doesn't understand. So he asks Jounouchi if they can try again.

End. Simple, isn't it?
