It was finally the end of the day and Mush was getting ready to leave school. He couldn't wait to go over to Mr. Spadelli's house and find out the progress on the machine that will eventually turn them back.
"Lexie wait up." Kid Blink yelled. Mush suddenly stopped and turned around.
"Oh hey Blink, what's up?" He asked.
"I was just wondering if we were still on for Friday."
"Friday? What's on Friday?" Mush asked really confused.
"Remember, our date? You know, it's our second official date." Kid Blink said looking at Mush.
"Second! When was the first?" Mush said kind of hurt.
"Last Friday, don't you remember?"
"You mean to tell me that you went on a date with me even though you knew that Mush liked me? What kind of a friend are you?" Mush said getting really mad.
"Hey it was your idea not mine, I just suggested the second date." Kid Blink said.
"Why would you even say yes to me? That's going against your friend even if I did ask you first."
"Why are you acting this way Lexie? You and Mush both have been acting really weird lately. So are we on for Friday or not?" He asked.
"NO!" Mush yelled. "And your friendship with Mush is over!"
"And how would you know that?" Kid Blink asked.
"Because, because, um, it, well it just is." Mush said.
"Fine whatever." Kid Blink said turning away.
"Big pimp, who does he think he is." Mush said heading towards Mr. Spadelli's house.

"Heya Mr. Spaghetti!" Mush yelled.
"Oh hey Lexie. Since when do you call me Mr. Spaghetti?" He asked.
"It's Mush remember?" Mush said.
"Oh yeah. I forgot. How are you guys handling that?" He asked working on his machine.
"Okay I guess. I just found out that my so called best friend went out with the girl that I liked for like ever." Mush said.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear about that Mush. Sometimes you learn who your true friends are through pain. The good news is that I've been working on this machine day in and day out and am almost half way down to getting it to change you guys back. The bad part is that it might be a week or two."
"A week or two? Oh gosh! That's gonna take forever!"
"I'm sorry Mush but I'm trying everything and I'm working on it every minute of the day."
"Well thanks Mr. Spaghetti. I guess I'll talk to ya later. C-ya." Mush walking away. When he finally got back to Lexie's house, he made sure to call her. When he called, his mom picked up the phone. He really missed hearing her voice. Sadly he really missed his mother and missed having her around to comfort him.
"Hello." She said.
"Hi, is Mush there?" He said.
"Yes hold on."
"Hello?" Lexie said.
"Well hello there Lexie." Mush said.
"What do you want?" She said.
"Did you and Blink have fun on your date?" He said.
"How did you find out about that?"
"Oh well Blinky told me. He wanted to know if your date was still on for Friday."
"What did you say?"
"I told him no of course."
"Mush! Why would you do that?"
"Well one I don't want to go on a date with my friend and second of all...well I can't tell you that but I just don't want you dating him."
"Mush you can't tell me who I can and can't date! It's bad enough that people think I'm you, don't go and ruin my life!"
"Lexie I'm not trying to ruin your life, it's just that I've really liked you and I don't know, I've just always wanted to go on a date with you."
"Well you ruined your chance now Mush." Lexie said hanging up the phone. She went over and sat one Mush's bed. She looked over at his nightstand and found a Bible. She picked it up and saw that things were highlighted.
"Mush reads the Bible?" Lexie said. She looked at the phone on the bed and wondered if she should call him back. The fact was that she wanted to go on a date with Mush too but couldn't find the courage to say yes to him. She went over and grabbed his journal and opened it up. She wanted to find out more about him and how he truly felt.
"Dear Journal, I just started reading the Bible today. I find it to be such a spirit lifter. I mean after all that happens here at home, I realized that I really need God in my life. I can't wait to see what God does in my life. Well diary, I mean journal, I saw Lexie again today. I swear that girl just kills me at times. Why doesn't she like me? I just don't get it. She is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet. That girl is like an angel on earth. She means so much to me. It just makes me want to cry at times that she won't ever give me a chance. Oh well diary, I guess you can't get everything in life. Sincerely, Mush." Lexie closed the book and placed it back down on the nightstand. She pulled the sheet over top of her and listened to the arguing downstairs. That night she cried herself to sleep thinking about how rude she has been to Mush, and the life that he had to live.
