Disclaimer: I do not own the Newsies. They are owned by Disney. cries I wished I owned the Newsies, hehe. I own Chloe-Lynn, Rachael, Randi, Mr. Spadelli, and Lexington Ann.
Hey guys. Sorry it took me so long to update.
SHOUT OUTS:
Trigger: I'm glad you liked the last chapter. I did put a lot of Snitch in, just for you. Snitch doesn't actually get detention. He gets a write up which is a warning, not detention, sorry. Should have explained that.
Nani: Aww, I'm sorry to hear about your day. I hope things got better for ya. Sounds good, she was born on Lexington Ave at 12 midnight. I'm glad you're a night person. I'm not. You would do GREAT at my job. I work third shift which mean you work at night, so you would do great at that, I'm not doing so well, hehe.
Mushs-grl 13: That's okay. Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I hope you like this chapter.
Spark: Thanks for reviewing. I really appreciate it. Where will you be traveling too?
"Well you must be Lexie." Mush's mom said letting Mush in.
"Hi Lexie, come on." Lexie said feeling kind of weird calling Mush Lexie. Mush followed Lexie into his room. "Did you bring your books?" Lexie said.
"Yeppers." Mush pulled his American History book out of his book bag.
"Alright, we were on the Civil War. How about I ask you some questions?" Lexie said.
"And every answer I get right, you take an article of clothing off." Mush said smiling.
"Oh yeah Mush, I'm sure you really want to see yourself naked."
"Dang, it would have worked if we were switched." Mush said.
"Alright, what year was the Civil War?" Lexie asked.
"1761." Mush said. Lexie just shook her head. "Um, 1843." Again she shook her head. "1971!" Mush yelled.
"No, 1861-1865." Lexie said.
"How am I supposed to remember that?"
"I don't know, you just have to know it. Alright, which side did the Union soldiers fight for?"
"The left."
"Mush there is no left."
"You have to have a left and right."
"It's the north or the south."
"North?"
"Correct! And how about the confederate soldiers?"
"I don't know." Lexie just laughed at Mush.
"Okay it was fought in the years 1861-1865 and the Confederate soldiers are the south and the Union soldiers are the north, can you remember that?"
"Probably not but hey, at least I'm spending time with you." Mush just smiled at Lexie and Lexie smiled back.
"Alright, awkward silence." Lexie said laughing.
"You're beautiful." Mush said smiling.
"Well thanks, I'm glad you find yourself beautiful."
"No, I mean you Lexington." Mush leaned in closer to her. "You are so amazing and in a scary kind of way, I'm glad this happened." He leaned in closer to her, to the point where they were almost kissing. Suddenly, the cell phone in Mush's pocket went off.
"Great timing." He said. "Hello. Oh hi Blink." He looked up at Lexie. "You want another date?" He said looking at Lexie. Lexie was giving Mush a puppy dog look. You could tell she didn't want him to turn Blink down. "Sure Blink. Tomorrow? Um okay. Yeah, c-ya later." Mush turned the phone off and just looked at Lexie.
"Thanks." Lexie looked at Mush. You could see the disappointment in his eyes.
"Anything for you."
"Okay, so umm, back to our studying. Mush who was the president at the time of the Civil War?"
"You know Lexie, this has been fun but I don't feel like studying anymore." Mush started packing up his things.
"But my grade's gonna drop, we need to study."
Mush slowly turned around and looked at Lexie, "Don't worry, it's in good hands. Goodnight Lexington Ann."
"Goodnight Mush." Lexie said watching Mush leave.
"What did I tell you! 88%!" Mush said holding his test out in front of Lexie.
"Well done Mush! I was a little nervous that you weren't gonna do as well as I hoped but you showed me wrong."
"Hey Lexie! Are you ready to go?" Blink yelled from behind.
"Yeah." Mush said looking at Lexie.
"Alright then, lets go. Hey Mush."
"Hey." Lexie said.
"So um, where are we going?" Mush asked.
"I'm taking you out for dinner if that's okay." Blink said.
"Oh yeah, sure that would be great." Mush got into Blink's car and they drove off to the restaurant. Mush was silent all the way there. He couldn't think of anything to say to his best friend. He was hoping and praying that he wouldn't get a surprise at the end of the date.
They finally reached the restaurant. Blink had taken Mush to Red Lobster. Mush hated sea food but he knew that he had to go along with it. Should I tell him? Mush thought to himself. No he wouldn't understand.
"I really appreciate you coming tonight Lexie." Blink said taking Mush's hand. Mush immediately pulled it back.
"I'm sorry. You just scared me for a second." Mush said. Finally the waiter came to take their order. Blink ordered the fried shrimp while Mush just ordered a salad.
"I thought you loved sea food." Blink asked.
"Well I do, I'm just going through a midlife crisis right now." Mush said.
"You're 13."
"Thanks for establishing the obvious. What I mean is, you wouldn't understand."
"What? You can tell me." Blink said.
"I'm not who you think I am Blink. I'm not exactly Lexie." Mush said.
"You're not exactly Lexie? What are you talking about?" Blink asked.
"It's Mush. I'm not Lexie, I'm Mush." Blink's eyes just bugled out from his head. He stared at Mush as if he was crazy.
"Yeah okay. Maybe I should just get the check and leave."
"No Blink, you have to believe me. I'm not making this up. If you don't believe me, ask me anything that you know only Mush would know."
"Alright, where was your first kiss at and at what age?" Blink asked.
"I was 8 years old and it was at your Grandma's 4th of July party during the fireworks."
"Okay that was to easy, lucky guess, what about, hmm, oh what was your nickname as a child?"
"Betty Sue Myers and yours was Trina Parker. We use to dress up in dresses and play tea party at your house when you're mom wasn't home. It wasn't until Racetrack saw us dressed in girl's outfits that we stopped playing with tea pots and play cupcakes. You had your first kiss at 10 with the fat girl across the street. It was behind the shed of your house. She was your first girl friend but when she found out that you enjoyed playing tea party when you were little, she dumped you. You became popular when you went to summer camp two years ago. All the girls fell for you and you told me how wonderful it was and how great girls are. That year you trained me to be the 'big man on campus' and ever since then we became popular. I got my reputation because of the rumor that Hailey sent around about me. I dated her when I was in 8th grade and she was a sophomore in high school. So if you still don't believe me, I could go on and on about how you wet the bed until you were in the 4th grade and how you still sleep with a teddy and blanket at night."
"Oh my God! It's really you in there isn't it?" Blink said in shock.
"Yeah it's me Blink. You have no idea how hard it's been for me the past few days. I've really missed you."
"I'm so sorry Mush. I didn't mean to ask Lexie out on a date, really. I just, well I don't know. I didn't see that you guys really had a chance so I went for her. Oh my God, please tell me that wasn't you when we were on our first date."
"No, why?"
"Because I kissed her."
"You kissed her?"
"Yeah, but I'm so sorry Mush. I promise I will never do it again, really. You're my best friend and it didn't feel right. You really should be with her, not me."
"Thanks Blink. Would you do me a favor and not tell the other guys about this?"
"I promise." Blink smiled at Mush and just laughed. "Let's get out of here. So what's it really like in there?"
"You have NO idea."
