Don't Leave Me
Chapter Four
Dreams lie
KAG'S POV
I sat in Koga's room. Since Inuyasha was still sleeping, and had been for the past two days, Koga and me were spending a little bit more time together. He wasn't all that bad really. After you got through that fact that he was obsessed with me, he was actually really sweet. He found ways to make me laugh and forget about the tough times. I would usually spend the morning with Inuyasha, the afternoon with Koga and the rest of the day with Inuyasha. I cared deeply for Koga, but it was only in a brotherly sisterly way. I loved Inuyasha, and I always would.
"How's dog breath doing?" Koga asked.
I shot him a warning glance, "He's doing better, he should wake up soon."
"KAGOME!"
"What?" I asked, spinning around.
"I-I don't feel too great," Sango said.
I looked Sango over; she did look sort of pale. I stood up and took Sango to the bathroom. I pulled Sango's hair back as she threw up into the toilet. Poor Sango! She really had it rough. I patted my friends back and handed her a wet cloth.
"I don't know what's wrong!" Sango said, "I've been acting this way for the past couple of days."
"Sango, I have a suspicion," I admitted, "I think you're pregnant."
"What?" Sango asked.
"I think you're pregnant," I said again, "Your symptoms agree with me. My mom will set you up an appointment for the doctor to find out for real."
"Really?" Sango asked.
"Yeah," I said, "Now go tell Miroku, I'm sure he'd like to know."
Sango smiled and ran out of the room. I walked back into Koga's room and found him curled on the bed, sleeping. I smiled, he wasn't getting that much sleep as far as I could tell. I kept hearing him talk in his sleep, the nights it was quite, I would walk into his room and find him sitting on the windowsill. Those nights, I don't think he ever fell asleep. I sat down next to him and moved some of the hair out his face. After a few minutes, I heard Miroku's cries of joy from downstairs. He must really have been happy; he was finally going to get a child.
INU'S POV
I was walking through the forest, but I don't know how I got there because I was still in Kagome's time. It was all dark and I heard a rustle in the bushes. I whipped around, my claws glinting in the moonlight. Miroku stepped out of the bushes, a wary smile on his face. Something didn't feel right and I couldn't quite place my finger on it. Whatever it was, I didn't like it.
"Inuyasha?" Miroku asked.
"Keh," I muttered, "Who else would it be Houshi?"
"W-well we haven't heard or seen from you in the past four years," Miroku said.
"Why not?!" I raged.
"You left because Lady Kagome accepted to be Koga's mate, don't you remember?" Miroku asked.
"She what..?" I didn't want to believe it, couldn't believe it.
"She saw you with Kikyo again, and she lost it and went to Koga," Miroku explained.
"Well where is she?!" I asked.
"In the village, let me show you," Miroku said.
Miroku started to walk off and I followed him. I didn't know where he was taking me, Kaede's village was in the complete opposite direction. He stopped in front of a small cave entrance and waited for me. I raised an eyebrow and followed him into the cave. After a few minutes of walking, the cave opened up and a whole village was down there. I stared at the village, amazed.
"Why is Kaede's village down here?" I asked.
"Since you left, we never defeated Naraku, and we were forced to move down here," Miroku explained.
Miroku lead me down into the village. I saw Sango, carrying a little girl. Miroku smiled at them and walked over to them, kissing Sango and the baby. Inuyasha stared in awe; he knew that Sango and Miroku were together, but a baby? Sango looked over at me and her eyes grew wide. She handed Miroku the baby and ran to me, hugging me.
"Inuyasha!" she cried, "We thought you were never coming back!"
"Why wouldn't I come back?" I asked.
Sango smiled and hugged me tighter. I looked over at the baby, she had Miroku's eyes and Sango's hair, it was adorable to say the least.
"What's her name?" I asked.
"Kironi," Miroku said proudly.
"I like it," I stated.
"Here, I'll take you to Kagome and Koga's house," Miroku said.
He handed Kironi back to Sango and started to walk to the back of the village. I smiled at Sango and then followed Miroku. The village was a lot bigger then I remembered it. Obviously, more then just Kaede's village was here. After a few minutes of walking, they came to a lone house near the back of the cave. It was a little bit bigger then the rest of the houses and seemed cozier somehow. Miroku knocked on the door.
"Lady Kagome?" Miroku called.
The door opened and Kagome stood in the doorway. She had changed, she was a demon now. Koga must have done something to her. She was wearing an outfit almost like Koga's. Her ears were pointed now; she had claws, fangs and a tail. In her arms was a wolf demon child. He had Koga's hair, but Kagome's eyes. I couldn't bear the sight but kept my ground.
"Inu-Inuyasha?" Kagome asked.
"Yeah, it's me," I whispered.
"W-what are you doing here?" Kagome asked, ushering the young boy inside.
"Just…visiting..." I replied, "What's his name?"
"Reoni," Kagome replied.
"He's cute," I said.
"Yeah," Kagome looked at the ground.
"Why did you leave?" she asked.
"I guess…because I lost you to Koga," I whispered.
"I never loved you Inu, I always loved Koga," Kagome stated, "So how did you lose me?"
I started at her, it couldn't be true. She didn't love me. She didn't love me. I fell to my knees and watched as she shut the door in my face. I covered my face with my hands and cried. I started turning in my sleep, muttering that I couldn't lose her, that I loved her. My eyes opened quickly and I sat up.
"NO! KAGOME!" I yelled.
The door burst open and Kagome stood in the doorway. She saw me and ran over to me and hugged me tight. I pushed her off of me. She looked at me confused. I could smell Koga all over her. It didn't make me too happy. I growled and looked away. She cupped my chin with her hand and forced me to look at her. Her eyes held worry, hurt, confusion. She was searching me, searching me for an answer.
"Inu? What's wrong?" she asked.
"What's wrong? What's wrong?" I asked.
She nodded and I lost it. "Where's Reoni?!" I spat.
"Reoni?" she looked at me, confused more and more by the second.
"Yours and Koga's son," I stated.
Her eyes widened and she stood up, "What are you thinking?! Me and Koga?"
"That's what I saw! We didn't defeat Naraku and you were with Koga!" I cried.
"Think Inuyasha! We defeated Naraku, we're in my house and I'm taking care of you," she cooed, hugging me again.
"Then why is his scent all over you?!" I raged.
"He was comforting me!" She said in defense, "You've been asleep for the past three days and I was afraid you weren't going to wake up!"
"You were worried about me?" I asked.
"Of course I was worried about you, Baka!" she said.
I lowered my eyes towards the bed and flattened my ears to my head. I was so caught up in the face that my dream felt so real, that I didn't even register that it was just a dream. I felt Kagome's eyes on me and I looked up at her. She looked like she had been through hell. I had heard her songs, every night in my head and they comforted me. She smiled and hugged me again. I buried my face into her hair and breathed in her sweet scent of strawberries and vanilla.
"Guess what!" Kagome said as she pulled back.
"What?" I asked.
"We all think Sango's pregnant!" Kagome grinned, "Mama's taking her to the doctor's tomorrow to see if she really is."
"Ask Sesshomaru," I said.
"Huh?" Kagome cocked her head to the side and she looked so adorable.
"He'll be able to tell if Sango's pregnant," I explained.
"How?" Kagome asked.
"It's…complicated," I said.
"Oh…well I have to tell everyone you're awake," Kagome said.
I smiled at her as she walked out of the room. She wasn't with Koga, everything was ok. I still had my chance. She came back upstairs a few minutes later with her mom, Kaede, Koga, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Rin and Sesshomaru. They were all relived to see me awake and I was glad to find that everything was normal, not the way it was in the dream
"Sesshomaru, is Sango pregnant?" Kagome asked.
Sesshomaru raised and eyebrow in a silent question. He stayed silent for a few seconds. "Yes. It's a girl."
Sango squealed with happiness and kissed Miroku full on the mouth, and in front of children! "We're going to have a girl Miro! What should we name her?" Sango asked.
"Kironi," I said quickly.
"What?" Sango asked.
"I thought you might like that name," I replied.
"What was it again?" Miroku asked.
"Kironi," I repeated.
"I like it!" Sango said, "What about you Miro?"
"It's settled, our little girl's name will be Kironi," Miroku said.
Sango grinned and hugged Miroku, kissing him again. Kagome laughed, something that made my heart flutter. I loved her laugh, so beautiful, so innocent. I watched as Kagome ushered everyone out of the room. So now, it was only her and me. I badly wanted to tell her how much I loved her, but I had to wait for the right time. I decided that I would tell her under the God Tree in Feudal Japan, where we met.
"Will you sing for me?" I asked.
"You've gotten use to being sung to sleep, huh?" she replied.
"Yeah," I said sheepishly.
She laughed nonetheless and walked over to me. I sat up and she sat behind me, I lay back down and she started to play with my hair. She was silent for a few minutes; I guess she was trying to decide what song to sing. She giggled quietly and started to play with my ears, earning a purr, I mean, growl from me.
I'm not afraid of anything
I just need to know that I can breathe
I don't need much of anything
But suddenly, suddenly
I am small and the world is big
All around me is fast moving
Surrounded by so many things
But suddenly, suddenly
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel?
I am young and I am free
But I get tired and I get weak
I get lost and I can't sleep
But suddenly, suddenly
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel?
Would you comfort me?
Would you cry with me?
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
I am small and the world is big
But I'm not afraid of anything
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel, to be
Different from me
Are we the same?
How does it feel?
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
You're different from me, different
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
You're different from me, different
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
You're different from me, different
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
You're different from me
"How different from you am I?" I whispered.
"Oh, Inu," Kagome said, "I-I'm sorry…I didn't-"
"It's ok Kag," I said, "Forget about it."
Kagome nodded, a sad smile gracing her lips. She lifted my head a little bit and laid down next to me. She snuggled into my warmth and I wrapped my arms around her. This is how I wanted to fall asleep every night. My Kagome lying next to me, snuggled in my arms, my arms around her. I buried my face in the crook of her neck and breathed in her scent. Strawberries and Vanilla clouded my senses and I slowly drifted off to sleep.
KAG'S POV
I buried my face into Inuyasha's chest. I totally forgot how sensitive Inuyasha was about what he was. I wasn't thinking straight, I was too busy reeling in the fact that his head was in my lap and I was playing with his ears. I don't want this moment to end, to be able to fall asleep in his arms, snuggled against his chest. Then, to be able to wake up in his arms, and tell him how much I love him and kissing him. I knew I had to tell him, but I would tell him under the God Tree, in the Feudal Era, where we met.
A/N- Yay! I got this chappie up quicker! Aren't ya'll proud of me? Hehe! Ok, well, here's the next chapter. I put a whole lot of Inu's thoughts on this one…hope ya'll don't mind, but it was necessary. Oh, if you were wondering, the beginning of Inu's POV…that was a dream, so don't worry, none of it's true! One reader pointed out that in last chapter, I said that Inu locked the door and then Kagome's mom came in…mistake on my part! Sorry guys! Anywayz! Thanks to all of those who reviewed! So, if you reviewed for last chapter, review for this one! Even if you haven't reviewed yet, review!! Please!
