Chapter 8: Revelations
Spike couldn't stand it any longer. He had to talk to Buffy. He had to tell her how much he loved her. It had been two days since he saw her last. Two days since his big mistake. He would find her tonight on her patrol through his cemetary. He felt empty without her. He could only hope that she felt the same way. He wondered what she was doing that very moment...
Buffy sat on her bed. She had been thinking about Spike for two days. Even her subconscious wanted him. She had had several dreams involving him. They were very...well... interesting. She wanted to talk to him, yet something had kept her away from his cemetary during patrol. She knew she would have to talk to him eventually. Maybe tonight she could find him. Little did she know he would be waiting for her.

*Spike's POV*
"I hope she comes by tonight...Maybe I should go to her... No, then she'd think I was stalking her. That would just ruin everything.... I'll stay here and wait on her. Let her come to me... Oh bloody hell! I sound like a soddin' poof!!!.... I'm actin' like bloody Peaches... Oh GOD NO!!!" Spike's sudden realization had scared him. Not Angel, anyone but him. But still, he would go with his plan and let her come when she was ready.
*END SPIKE'S POV*

Buffy had walked through every cemetary in Sunnydale except for one. She dreaded going in there. She was terrified of what might happen if, and when, she saw Spike. She drew in a deep breath and stood up straighter. It was time. "Let's do it." She said to convince her immobile feet to move. They felt glued to the ground not a foot outside the cemetary.
Finally, she moved. It seemed to take ages to reach the crypt. She stood outside for a few minutes, very still, very quiet. Spike heard movement outside and went to the door. She had finally come. Just as Buffy reached up to knock, Spike opened the door.
"Hello." Spike was breathless as he spoke. He didn't know what else to say. Words just wouldn't come to him. He stepped aside and gracefully waved her into the room. Buffy hesitated. Did she really want to do this? Yes, she did. Better now than later. She walked in, but never spoke or looked at him. She was afraid of what she might find in his face.
Spike sat down in a nearby chair and motioned for Buffy to do the same. Neither spoke or glanced at the other. Finally, Buffy couldn't take it any longer.
"I need to tell you something, Spike." She said, looking up at him for the first time that night. She looked nervous and a little afraid.
"I told you last time I saw you that you can tell me anything, anytime, no matter what, Buffy. I meant it." He had looked up at her when he said that. He caught her eyes with his and she shivered. He noticed what his gaze did to her and he knew why she had come, but he still wanted to hear it from her. "Go ahead. I won't interrupt. But just so you know, I want to tell you something after you've finished, so please don't run off again. It's important."
"I've been thinking about what happened between us a few days ago. I don't know why it happened, but I...umm... I didn't really mind it much. What exactly did that mean to you? I know how I feel about it but I need to know about you. I really think I like you and I need to know how you feel. That's it I think. So... umm... what did you need to tell me?" Buffy turned about ten shades of red during her speech. She couldn't believe that she had just laid her heart out to Spike. And it all had to do with him. She closed her eyes and waited for his response.
Spike was speechless. Had she just admitted that she liked him? He didn't want to say anything for fear it would ruin the moment. He stood up and walked over to her and kneeled at her feet. He picked up her hands and laced his fingers in hers.
"Buffy?" She did not respond. He went on. "Do you mean that? Really, truly mean it? Cuz if you do, you probably want to know that I feel the same way. I'm not exactly sure what came over me that day and I'm sorry if I scared you. But now I'm glad I kissed you, made you realize how much you want me, huh?" He chuckled as Buffy swatted at him for his little joke.
"Yeah. I mean it Spike. I like you alot. I'm not sure when it starte, but it did. So what do we do now?" Buffy watched Spike with an inquisitive look on her glowing face. He was gazing into her eyes as if trying to memorize her look.
"That's up to you, luv. I don't want to move away any faster than you're willing to. You set the pace, I'll follow you." Spike was very serious about this. He did not want to scare her off. He finally had her and didn't want to lose her so soon.
"Okay." Buffy said, a touch of fear mixed with excitement in her soft voice. She closed her eyes briefly and took a calming breath. It wasn't like her to be nervous around guys. Spike just had a weird effect on her sometimes. Suddenly, she leaned forward and pressed her lips gently to his.
Spike jumped back in shock. He hadn't been expecting that. Yeah, they had kissed before, but it was so quick and unexpected. Buffy shot him a questioning look as he jumped to his feet. When he realized what he'd done he moved towards her. He picked up her hands and pulled her to her feet. Right after he'd done it, he knew he shouldn't have. It reminded her of Riley. A few tears slid down her cheek.
Spike hugged her tightly saying, "I'm sorry luv. Don't cry." He spun around so he sould sit in the chair and pulled Buffy down into his lap. She flung her arms around his neck and let him hold her for a while. He comforted her by running his fingers through her hair and massaging her back.
He wouldn't ask or expect anything more of her tonight. They would take it nice and slow and see what happened. He assumed they would have to tell her friends sometime. 'That'll go over well.' He mused. He'd let her tell them her way in her own time. For now, he was just glad to hold her and for her to be his.
