-Kitty- ALOHA! I was up late the other night and wrote this. Or, well... closer to yesterday morning than the other night. Anyway, it's a random Matthew x Guy oneshot thingiemabobber that popped into my head and ended up on paper. It's... okay, I guess.

-Naruto- It's bad, don't read it.

-Kitty- You're MEAN!!

-Kakashi- Break it up, you two. =goes back to reading=

-Kitty- And I don't own Fire Emblem or Matthew or Guy. If I DID own them, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction at midnight.

-Naruto- And Kitty's titles suck. Credit goes to bladegryphon for the title.

-Kitty- MEANIE!

-Kakashi- =puts book down= Somebody read this so they'll shut up. Please.

-Kitty- And I'm a little uncomfortable posting this, so... eh, give it a try? Mebbe, by some weird stroke of fate, you'll like it. =bows= Here goes...

=====

Guy hugged his knees to his chest, eyes drooping. Every slow breath could be seen in the chilly air. The fire in front of him popped and crackled. His was the last fire burning in camp. He was the only one awake, it seemed.

So it seemed.

A pair of amber eyes reflected the firelight from the lower branches of a nearby tree. This had been going on for a few weeks now- Guy would stay up well past midnight, staring into the campfire until he fell asleep. Blissfully unaware of his watcher.

Every night Matthew would stay up watching him, making sure nothing happened. He didn't want to lose Guy when he still owed seven favors now, would he?

...Would he?

Every night, after Guy fell asleep, Matthew would drop to the ground and slink slowly over to him. He'd crouch down until his face was level with the sleeping face of Guy; until he could feel his slow, warm breaths against his forehead. Matthew would close his eyes and breathe in the smell of the sleeping boy. And Guy slept on.

Every night, Guy slept on.

Every night, Matthew would pick up the sleeping myrmidon in his strong arms. Every night, Matthew would lean his face against Guy's soft cheek. He would stare at the peaceful form in his arms and smile. Every night.

Matthew would carry Guy back to his tent with slow, measured steps. He would drink in the feel of the sleeping body in his arms. And he would wish.

Matthew would wish.

He would lay Guy down on the cot in his tent, slowly. He would pull the blanket up beneath Guy's chin and tuck it under. He would brush the myrmidon's bangs out of his face, and he would slowly, softly press his lips against Guy's forehead.

He would straighten up and look almost guilty for a few seconds, then he would turn around and slink out of the tent as quietly as he had come in.

And every night, Guy would open one eye, sigh, and go to sleep.

And Guy would wish.

Every night.

-Kitty- Er, and that's it. n.n;; Hope you liked it... or at least weren't repulsed by it.

-Naruto- Ick.

-Kitty- -.- You don't COUNT!

-Kakashi- I've always wondered, why do writers ask readers to READ and review at the END of their stories? Wouldn't the reader have already read it if they were reading the end author's notes?

-Kitty- And thank you Kakashi for that incredibly Miss Congeniality way to break up a fight.

-Naruto- Hmph.

-Kitty- Er... review please? And... please don't flame. This is my first, and probably last, attempt at shounen- ai. I'm not quite comfortable with writing this type of story yet.
