The Voyage Home
Disclaimer: I DO NOT own Voyager or any of its characters. So, PLEASE don't sue me...cause frankly, I probably couldn't afford it. (University student...I think that speaks for itself.)
AN: This is just a little poem I wrote about Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant. It's written in the viewpoint of an un-named crewman.
For seven years I've dreamed of this day
For seven long years I've been away
Our journey was long and very hard
Many of us have been emotionally marred
We've not seen our loved ones for many years
The thought of seeing them again brings joyous tears
We're finally home after all this time
A miracle some would say is divine
Our happiness though is not without price
Our return did not come without sacrifice
We lost some friends whilst fighting our foes
But we also made friends, which lessened our woes
Although it was hard, we had to be strong
And accept the fact that our journey was long
We knew the Captain would not lead us astray
So every order she gave, we would obey
We knew our efforts were not in vain
For the sun always comes out after the rain
And now before me I see the Earth
My spirit rejoices and I am filled with mirth
