- Rain's Point Of View -
I awoke to the touch of the wind caressing my face gently as it surrounded me, entering through a nearby window. I didn't open my eyes. I liked the feel of it so much I just lay there silently, enjoying it. I felt a pair of lips kiss my forehead, and when those lips pulled away, the wind made that very spot of skin cold. I inched closer to the body that was radiating heat as the cool breeze chilled me. I opened my eyes to see Domon smiling tenderly at me.
"Good morning baby." He said sweetly.
"Good morning." I answered. I leaned up and pressed my lips into his. He kissed me back, and I wrapped one arm around his neck. I couldn't help but love how natural waking up in his arms feels.
"What do you want to do today?" he asks. I think about that for a minute, a long minute as it turns out, because my stomach started to growl.
"Food sounds good right now." I say and he laughs slightly. "Why don't you go make us some?"
"You want me to make breakfast?" he says incredulously, "Are you fully aware of what you are getting yourself into?"
I smile innocently, shrugging. "It can't be that bad." And then without thinking, I spit out, "Besides, I guess I should know the extent of your cooking abilities before we get married."
This immediately catches his attention and he turns his head to look me straight in the eye. I give him a sheepish grin, hoping to diminish some of the awkwardness that now loomed over us.
"Err...married, Rain?"
I just shrugged with an unknowing smile, not quite sure how he's feeling about this.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean that...I mean, I meant it, but not like that. It's just, after that baby on the plane, and being with you like this...well...it's got me thinking to say the least." I ended hopefully. His face still showed no sign of emotion, and I took this as a bad sign. I turned away, and my eyes starting to water.
"Rain..." he said softly, "Rain, Rain, Rain." He pulled me gently into his arms, rubbing my back softly as I let the tears fall. One fell onto his chest, and as he felt it roll down his torso he pulled me closer. I wiped my eyes and looked up at him. He smiled at me and spoke.
"Rain, what's wrong?"
"You don't want to marry me!" I cried, sounding so childish I was surprised he didn't burst out laughing.
"How could you think that? You just...caught me off guard. I mean, we were talking about breakfast one minute, and being married the next." He said patiently, and I smiled.
"Of course I want to marry you." He said quietly, bringing a broad smile to my face. I kissed him and he let out a laugh, filling my cheeks like a balloon.
"You just ruined the moment buster, so I hope you have something to say for yourself." I teased, and he teased back.
"Actually, I do." But then his face turned to seriousness. "What made you say that?"
"I don't really know. A jumble of things really..." I trailed off, but he looked expectantly at me, hoping for more.
"Well, the baby started it off. The whole motherhood thing was like some sort of instantaneous switch that impulsed me to kind of...oh what's the word...nurture the baby. And I thought about having kids, and then I thought that I need to get married before I have kids, and you are that the only one in my life right now that I could ever dream of marrying. And when I woke up this morning, just lying peacefully in your arms, it felt so right, so incredibly natural that it almost scared me. Sort of like we were married. I guess...I guess I just never stopped thinking about it, and it just came out."
His eyes were glazed over, and a quick kiss on the lips broke him out of this other world. I waited anxiously to see his response, wondering if all this was okay. He just gave me a quick smile before taking hold of my lips again. Our mouths opened involuntarily, and we just lie there and kissed for a while, exploring each other's mouths. He rolled over and I came out on top of him, not breaking the kiss. Then he rolled again, this time on top of me. He propped himself up by his elbows so as not to hurt my stomach, and I pressed my hands into his chest. He sucked gently on my bottom lip, kissing me around my neck and over my face. I let out a soft groan of pleasure, letting myself enjoy being like this with him. He lowered himself away from my face till he was about eye level with my breasts. He slid his hands over my bare skin and under the back of my bra, onto my sides, and gently caressing my breasts. He looked into my eyes, and I bit my lips to keep from laughing and smiling. His touch instantly aroused me, and I let out a laugh and nearly jumped on him, kissing him as we tumbled through an ocean of pillows and blankets. I pulled away due to need of air, and, looked into his eyes.
It was strange. This time, as I stared into Domon's eyes, I didn't see the familiar brown color, or his usual long lashes. I saw fire, passion, want, need. I saw my house, my children, my love, my life. I saw my future. And I realized that all I need for the rest of my life is...Domon.
- Domon's Point of View -
I shook Rain slightly, waking her up from her dream world, wondering what she could possibly be thinking.
"Hey babe, how about that breakfast?" I say, and she smiled and nodded. We got up, and she walked first. I put my hands on her hips and walked close behind her, tickling her tender stomach, making her squirm with delight. She laughed, and I smiled, eager to please her.
"What do you want for breakfast darling?" I asked, hoping that she wanted something I could cook.
"Err," she said, giving this some thought, "how about pancakes?"
"Alright." I agreed. I fished in the cupboard for some eggs, a bowl, a wooden spoon, the pancake mix, the measuring cups, some milk, and some vegetable oil. Rain and I measured out all the ingredients, bumping each other and laughing as we went along. When we had finally gotten everything into the bowl, I took out the wooden spoon and began to mix everything together. But, no matter how hard I tried, the batter remained chunky, not smooth as it is supposed to.
This angered me very greatly, and I yelled at it. Rain wrapped her arms around me, one arm on my shoulder, the other underneath my arm, her feet lifted off the ground. She put her head on my shoulder and laughed at me.
"How's breakfast coming?" she teased, and I just huffed at her.
"Here, hold on a minute, let me get you something to make it easier." She offered, and I waved my hand, gesturing for her to go and do whatever it was that she was going to do. She went over to the cupboard and fished around for a moment before she let out a victorious squeal. I just chuckled at her as she pulled a cooking instrument out that I had never seen before.
"This," she said, "is an electric mixer. Much more efficient, and much less whining." She teased, and I just shook my head at her. Shrugging, she plugged the instrument in and handed it to me.
"Here." She said, "Now watch." She put the mixer into the batter and put the speed on one. I watched as it effortlessly removed any and all clumps. She threw a smile at me as she turned off the mixer.
"Now you try." She offered, and I picked up the mixer. Without hesitation, I turned it on five. Suddenly, batter flew everywhere, on the floor, stove, countertop, refrigerator, microwave, and Rain and I.
Rain screamed. I didn't know what to do, and I couldn't find the off button, so I just took it out of the bowl. Of course, that made everything even worse, because the batter remaining on the mixer when I took it out was also thrown into the air. Finally, Rain pulled the plug, and the room was silent once again.
But not for long. Rain and I erupted in laughter. She leaned against the refrigerator, sinking to the floor, still giggling. I bent down on my knees to face her, laughing along with her. We sat on the floor opposite each other and just continued to laugh, and as she threw her head back in joy, I caught her eye.
It was strange. This time, as I stared into Rain's eyes, I didn't see the familiar cerulean blue color, or her usual long lashes. I saw fire, passion, want, need. I saw my house, my children, my love, my life. I saw my future. And I realized that all I need for the rest of my life is...Rain.

And so, that's how their lives remained, from then on. Both Domon and Rain knew that all they needed and wanted was each other, and they were content with that. They balanced each other perfectly, leaning on each other during tough times, and more than willing to share the happy times. They had trust, companionship, support, loyalty, honesty, and realism in their relationship. But, more than any thing, they had each other, and they had love.
And that's all they needed for the rest of their lives.
